CHAPTER 7: A strange feeling

I went back to my room, changed my dress, and went to take a bath.

"Sooo....How what the day my lady?" Asked Nina as she washed my hair.

I know exactly what she wanted to hear because I saw her seeing me and Damian together. But I'm not going to give a piece for her to be entertained on.

"I made a new friend, I danced with my brother and met that creepy prince," I said

"My lady, you better mind your words, what if someone heard you?" Said Nina, worried.

"Don't worry, no one is here other than you and me, and besides everyone is too busy to have fun with themselves that I don't want to talk about it. That makes me wonder, why aren't you taking a break, Nina?" I asked.

Nina looked hesitant, and then said, "I went to visit my fiancée, it had been over a year since I saw him."

"Where does your fiancée work at?"

"He is working in this duchy, he came here last year, that is young master's secretary Maxian Jack. That is why I decided to join here in the first place," said Nina.

I never knew anything about Nina's life, all she did was help me silently by my side. She never spoke about herself but only listened to me, that make men think have I ever asked her about herself?

I held Nina's hand and looked at her palm. The bruise she got to protect me from the collapsed ceiling isn't there, it would have hurt a lot but still, she continued to work the next day despite it. She hid all her pain and only showed her best side to me so that I wouldn't worry about her. But I was just an idiot, to turn a blind eye to all of this.

"Nina, if anything or anyone is bothering you please tell me and don't hide it. Please, I am an idiot and can't catch situations fast so I need you to tell me everything. Please," I said as I curled myself up, trying not to show my tears.

Nina then hugged me from back and said, "Don't worry my lady, I will always be by your side, and I'll tell you everything you so that you can be in peace, but first your health is much more important."

I didn't want Nina to see my bad sides but I couldn't help myself but brawl my eyes out. I was filled with all these emotions that had to be let out. But even in a situation like this Nina was always there to support me.

I put on night clothes, eyes completely swollen.

"Haha! My lady, you look like you were stung by bees," said Nina.

I was happy that we came back to the lighthearted mood, like how it was before. Nina then left the room, and I lay down on the bed, staring at the ceiling. I was thinking about all the things that happened that day.

"Damien Maxford," I mumbled under my lips.

For some reason I couldn't get his name out of my mind, he felt very familiar.

It was a very strange feeling.

As I was snuggling my pillow, I heard a huge commotion coming outside my room.

"What is it now?"

I got off my bed and opened the door to see the crown prince, fighting with the guards and the maids. He was making a huge fight downstairs. Nina was one of them, who trying to stop him.

"Enough! Stay back." I said as I walked down the stairs.

"Your Highness, what is it that brought you here this late at night?" I asked trying to keep it professional.

"Nothing, I just wanted to meet the girl I fell in love with," he said.

"Get lost you asshole", is what I wanted to say to him at that time, but I didn't want to get cut off my head with this dumbasses sword, so I just stood there putting up a smile.

"Oh my, your highness, you are so intoxicated with alcohol that you even started to speak to the status. Wait, let me call your guards." I said signaling the guards.

I swear I was tired of this, I just want to get a good night's sleep. Is that too much to ask, and why the heck is this bozo doing here this late at night? I get that the party is still going but doesn't he have royal duties? No wonder the kingdom will slowly start to fall apart in the future. I'm so glad that the actual crown prince will take his rightful place in the thrown back in the future or else I'm not sure what will happen if he didn't.

The prince was so high that he would regret everything he did the next day, but I enjoyed seeing him like this, under my control.

"Girl, I am your best chance. See, I'm strong, smart, and rich. I have everything a girl wants."

"Crown prince, if you are so strong why don't you try jumping off the second floor to see if you will fly?" I asked.

"Do you doubt me?" he asked.

All I did was tilt my head and smirk at him.

"I will show you who the boss is!" he said as he went upstairs.

Everyone in the room was worried, except me. I was so ready for him to jump.

"Jump, jump, jump, jump..." was the only thing chanting in my mind. The feeling of hate and disgust overpowered my humanity.

But at the right moment, the prince's guards came and rescued him. I snapped back to reality and played the victim.

"Oh my, you came right on time. The crown prince was be intoxicated with alcohol that he was not in the right senses, and he tried to challenge me by saying that he could fly. Please save him!" I said shedding a tear.

His guards took him thanked me and left.

Well at least now that is done, can I go to sleep?

I looked around to see everyone still in shock.

"Everyone, please go back, thank you so much for your hard work," I said and went back to my room.
