When The Sun Shines On Your Mismatched Eyes

When The Sun Shines On Your Mismatched Eyes

Chapter one: When We First Met

...As I walk through the park, the wind blows gently....

...I inhale, taking in the sweet scent of my natural surroundings....

...The trees, the leaves, the flowers; only moving ever so slightly....

...I smile, clearly happy. The grass filled with daffodils and other lovely things....

...----------------...

...Soon, I approach a brown bench, a boy with earphones laying upon it....

...I sit down where space is apparent, my arms held near my body....

...I watch him closely, his eyes fixated on the diamond blue sky— the wind blows, and he flinches just a bit....

...As if tired of staring at the sky, he sits up to rest his feet on the concrete, and out the corner of his eye, he then spots me....

...----------------...

...Our eyes meet for more than intended. I take in the ever so delicate and the ever so soft features of his face....

...His curly hair swaying along with the wind as he took out one earphone....

...We exchange no words, our eyes talking in this quiet space....

...My mind then wanders to know why he was laying here alone....

...----------------...

...The sun shines a soft beam which highlights the boy's eyes....

...My expression— fascinated at his mismatched beauty; the boy then avoiding my gaze....

...I tell him, "I find your eyes unique." My words clearly taking the boy by surprise....

...He stares back at me, a shy smile playing on his lips. His smile looks so sweet— contagious enough to paint a smile on my lips too....

...----------------...

...I take in his features once again; I notice a group of freckles that are scattered around his nose, near his eyes and on his cheeks....

...A nervous 'Thank you.' escapes his lips as his body now sits near to mine....

...I laugh quietly, shifting closer to him. Our gaze then interrupted by sounds of rustling leaves, yet I want nothing more than to hear him speak—again....

...Our closeness only increases my curiosity. The sweet aroma that lay upon him ever so divine....

...----------------...

...I look back at him, him back at me. The sudden unison making us laugh....

...Before I could say a word. He asks me a question, "What color do you think we can make?"...

...I shrug, not knowing the answer. The boy passes me a reassuring smile, as if happy to know I didn't have one....

...His eyes focus on mine, my eyes focus on his. I believe that whatever happens now will only be fate....

...----------------...

...After the leaves dance around, we start a conversation....

...His voice soft and gentle— a lovely melody....

...Occasionally, I glance over at the flowers. Every word I want to say is always stopped by hesitation....

...Yet he is patient and calm; for someone he just met, he's treating me with the utmost lenity....

...----------------...

...We don't notice the hours as time flies by— the sunset now our alarm....

...He stands up to leave, yet I stop him with a simple, "Wait." before we part....

...The air is cool, the wind is whistling, now the scene is ever so calm....

...His expression stays sweet and friendly— "Xavier." he tells me, "Xavier Hart."...

...----------------...

...The boy, or should I say Xavier, waves me goodbye as he walks away....

...Today, I had an encounter— one that I'll never forget....

...The sunset warms me up as I stand up to end the day....

...I only walked through the park to admire its calming nature— but who could've guessed that today would be when we first met....

...----------------...
