Chapter 7

Two days had already passed, Petra was on her way to the hospital, today her husband was going to have his first physiotherapy session, and she wanted to follow everything up close.

Joseph, her mother-in-law's driver was taking her, Rebekah went to her daughter-in-law's house early in the morning and insisted on choosing an outfit for her to wear. Petra thought that was ridiculous, she didn't want anyone to meddle in her life anymore, she had barely gotten rid of her father and already had someone else picking on her.

Petra was already reaching her limit, but to avoid fights, she decided to wear the clothes and get out of that house as soon as possible, because if she stayed there for a few more minutes, she would surely have a nasty fight with Rebekah.

The outfit Petra was wearing was a white silk dress with spaghetti straps, a nude coat over it and white heels. Her hair was left loose, but of course, her mother-in-law still made a point of making some criticism about it.

— We're here, ma'am. — says Joseph after pulling into the hospital parking lot.

— Thank you, Joseph. — says Petra, smiling. — You can go, I'll be here for a while, I'll call you when I want to go home.

He nodded in agreement, so Petra got out of the car and headed toward the hospital entrance.

Petra watched as Bryan went through his first physical therapy session. Her physiotherapist, an attractive young woman, was touching her body very carefully. Petra couldn't take her eyes off the scene, she was feeling something strange, a strange feeling was emerging.

She wanted to scream at the woman to stop touching Bryan like that. The tall, slender blonde seemed to be touching Bryan's body suspiciously. Petra felt that strange feeling increase as the session continued.

It was difficult for Petra to explain to herself why she was so worried, after all, she married Bryan because she had to.

She let out an irritated sigh and shifted uncomfortably in that armchair, in which she was accommodated while watching everything intently. Petra no longer wanting to watch that scene that was messing with her psychology, Petra took a book she was carrying in her bag and started to read, but it was difficult to concentrate, because whenever the physiotherapist got too close to him, Petra felt a tightness. Finally, the physical therapy session over, Petra stood as she dropped her book on the chair and walked over to where Bryan lay.

As he approached, the woman was putting her things in her purse, so after finishing, the physio gave him a bright smile and touched his arm in a caress before leaving. Petra felt a surge of anger, but she tried to control it.

— Bryan, she was touching you very suspiciously. I didn't know that physical therapists worked by touching their patients in such an intimate way. — Petra said in a slightly louder voice than she intended.

— What do you mean? She was just doing her physical therapy work. — Bryan replied, confused.

Petra couldn't help but let out a loud sigh and slap her forehead.

— Are you jealous? — asks Bryan, smiling sideways while looking at his wife.

Petra looked at him in disbelief.

— I? — She asked, pointing to herself. — jealous of you?

Now, Petra had a smile on her lips as she pointed at her husband.

— Yes. — Bryan says holding Petra's coat and opening it, so he could see the dress she was wearing, that silk outfit was beautiful on Petra's body, and Bryan couldn't help but get excited about it. —You look really hot in that dress.

Petra slapped his hand and walked away, zipping up her coat.

— You naughty. — says Petra, walking to the armchair and picking up her book, and soon after putting it in her bag.

— I'm only speaking the truth, wife. — he says, making Petra roll her eyes. — where are you going?

— Although. — says Petra.

— No… — he says quickly. — I mean, stay a little longer, I'm tired of being alone.

— And you want me to stay here and talk to you? — she asks, and he nods. — right.

Petra again left her bag on the armchair and walked to the bed, where she sat down next to her husband, he was looking at her with a smile.

— So, what do you want to talk about? — she asks.

— Like we don't know each other well, and we're basically married. I thought it would be good for us to talk and get to know each other. — he says, causing Petra to nod in agreement.

— What do you want to know about me? — Asks Petra settling better in bed.

— Everything, I want you to tell me everything about yourself. — he says curiously.

— I don't have anything interesting to say. — says Petra sheepishly.

— I'm sure you have. — Bryan says, smiling, she ends up holding Petra's hand, and automatically they stop laughing and stare at each other.

Their eyes don't let go, the silence is palpable as they stare at each other. Bryan squeezes her hand, and she sighs, but doesn't pull away.

— I'm sure everything about you is interesting, Petra. — he says softly, his voice husky.

— I like to read. — says Petra, and Bryan smiles beautifully at her.

— I noticed, not everyone carries a book in their purse. — he says, and now it's Petra's turn to laugh.

— I love plants and taking care of the garden, after all, I planted roses in the garden of our house. — says Petra, her cheeks turning red at her words.

— Our home? — he asks, smiling.

— Yes, your mother took me to a house and said that we would stay there, I liked it even more as the garden, where I could take care of my plants and read my books in a quiet place. — she says now, smiling.

Bryan looks closely at Petra's smile, it was beautiful. Suddenly, he feels his heart racing and butterflies in his stomach, his gaze drops to her hand and Petra's that were still together. He had never felt like this. It was all strange and new.
