Olivia shook her head. No, thank you. I'll manage, she replied, even though her stomach growled in protest. She continued to draw in her notebook, trying to distract herself from her hunger.
The guards exchanged glances, their expressions filled with sympathy.
Bob - You sure? We could get you something to eat.
Olivia hesitated, her hunger overpowering her pride. Well, if it's not too much trouble... some food would be nice.
Bob nodded and motioned for his partner to follow him. They disappeared inside the mansion, leaving Olivia to her thoughts. She couldn't believe she was waiting outside a billionaire's house, hoping for a chance to speak with him. It all seemed so surreal.
After what felt like an eternity, Bob and his partner returned with a bag of takeout. Olivia's eyes widened in surprise.
Bob - We hope this'll do.
Olivia smiled gratefully. Thank you so much.
She eagerly dug into the food, savoring every bite. The guards stood nearby, watching her with kind eyes. It was an unexpected act of kindness, one that made Olivia feel a glimmer of hope in her otherwise bleak situation.
As she finished her meal, Olivia couldn't help but wonder what would happen next. Would Aron Maclean ever acknowledge her presence? Or would she be chased away like a stray dog? Only time would tell. But for now, she would continue to wait, fueled by determination and a full stomach.
Olivia - Just a moment!
She lied, as she hadn't eaten anything all day.
The man entered the station and grabbed a piece of chocolate-covered cake and handed it to her.
Bob - You can eat it, the girls always come here to leave us snacks at the reception.
She hesitated to not accept it, but there was no way, her stomach was hurting almost reaching her back due to hunger, and she couldn't leave because there was a risk of not being able to find Aron and all her time waiting would be in vain.
Olivia - Thank you!
She accepted it willingly and put the agenda in her backpack, stretched her legs and placed the dish on top and started eating. An hour later, a car turned the street at high speed and skidded to a stop in front of the house, honking a few times, and soon the entrance gates opened. However, the car window was rolled down and Frida smiled broadly at Olivia, who was a bit nervous, thinking it was Aron Maclean.
Frida - You must be the nanny assistant candidate I requested from the agency, right?
Olivia - Nanny?
Frida - Sorry for the delay, I don't live here! But I handle all my cousin's problems, you know how it is with single men, right? (laughs)
Olivia - And...I...
She was about to say that she wasn't a nanny at all, but she quickly thought about it and decided to go along with it, as it would be a great opportunity to see her nephew again after three months.
Olivia - Yes, I'm the nanny that the agency sent!
Frida - Great, get in the car!
She looked at the security guard, who had a puzzled look, not understanding much, grabbed her backpack and hurriedly went around and got into Frida's sports car, who stepped on the accelerator and drove into the Maclean mansion.
