Li Yun had barely settled into his dormitory when he heard a loud gong sound throughout the academy. He quickly grabbed his belongings and rushed out, following the crowd of students towards the main hall.

"What's going on? Is there an emergency?" Li Yun asked a nearby student, who looked at him with a puzzled expression.

"Don't you know? It's the first test of the academy. Every new student has to participate. It's a way to assess our potential and rank us accordingly," the student explained.

Li Yun felt a pang of nervousness. He had forgotten about this test, which he had failed miserably in his previous life. He hoped that this time, he could do better.

He arrived at the main hall, where hundreds of students gathered in front of a large stage. On the stage, there were several elders wearing robes with different symbols on them. They represented the various factions and sects within the academy, each with their own specialties and philosophies.

One of the elders stepped forward and addressed the crowd with a booming voice.

"Welcome, new students, to the Heavenly Dao Academy. You are here to learn the secrets of cultivation and become masters of your own destiny. But before you can do that, you must pass our first test."

The elder waved his hand, and a large screen appeared behind him. It showed a map of the academy grounds, with several areas marked with different colors.

"The first test is simple. You have to explore the academy and find as many tokens as you can. Each token has a different value, depending on its color and location. The more tokens you collect, the higher your score will be. The score will determine your rank and placement within the academy."

The elder continued, "But be warned, this is not a simple scavenger hunt. There are dangers and challenges along the way. You may encounter traps, puzzles, beasts, or even other students who will try to stop you or steal your tokens. You have to use your wits, skills, and courage to overcome them."

The elder paused for a moment, then said, "The test will last for one hour. When the time is up, you have to return to the main hall and hand over your tokens to be counted. The top ten students will receive special rewards and recognition from the academy. The bottom ten students will be expelled."

A gasp went through the crowd. Li Yun felt his heart sink. He remembered that in his previous life, he had been one of the bottom ten students who had been kicked out of the academy.

He clenched his fists and swore to himself that he would not let that happen again.

He looked around and saw Su Yan standing nearby. She smiled at him and gave him a thumbs up.

"Good luck, Li Yun. I'm sure you'll do great," she said.

Li Yun felt a surge of warmth in his chest. He smiled back and nodded.

"Thank you, Su Yan. You too."

He felt a connection with her that he couldn't explain. He hoped that they would meet again after the test.

The elder raised his hand again and said, "The test begins now!"

A loud horn sounded, signaling the start of the test.

Li Yun wasted no time and dashed out of the hall, along with hundreds of other students.

He had a plan in mind. He knew where some of the hidden tokens were located, thanks to his memories from his previous life.

He hoped that this time, he could change his fate and prove himself worthy of being a student of the Heavenly Dao Academy.
