...Chapter 3: The Mysterious Box...
Li Yun ran through the academy grounds, avoiding the main paths and heading towards the forest. He knew that there was a hidden cave in the woods, where he had found a rare token in his previous life.
He hoped that the token was still there, and that no one else had discovered it.
^^^He reached the edge of the forest and entered the dense foliage. He followed a faint trail that led him deeper into the woods. He had to be careful, as there were wild beasts lurking in the shadows.^^^
...He heard a roar behind him and turned around. He saw a large wolf with red eyes and sharp fangs, charging at him....
Li Yun reacted quickly and drew his sword. He slashed at the wolf, but it dodged his attack and leaped at him.
Li Yun rolled to the side and stabbed at the wolf's belly. The wolf yelped and fell to the ground, blood spilling from its wound.
Li Yun didn't waste any time and ran past the wolf, hoping that it wouldn't chase him.
...He continued to follow the trail, until he reached a large boulder. He pushed the boulder aside, revealing a small opening....
He crawled into the opening and found himself in a dark cave. He lit a torch and looked around.
The cave was filled with stalactites and stalagmites, creating a mysterious atmosphere. Li Yun spotted a glint of metal in the corner of the cave. He walked towards it and saw a silver token with a dragon symbol on it.
^^^He recognized it as one of the most valuable tokens in the test. It was worth 100 points, which was more than most students could get in an hour.^^^
He grabbed the token and smiled. He had just scored a major advantage in the test.
...He put the token in his bag and prepared to leave the cave. But before he could do that, he heard footsteps outside....
He quickly hide behind a rock and peeked out. He saw Chen Xuan entering the cave, holding a torch.
Chen Xuan was one of Li Yun's rivals in the academy. He was arrogant and ruthless, always looking down on others. He had a grudge against Li Yun, who had surpassed him in several classes.
Chen Xuan looked around the cave, searching for tokens. He didn't notice Li Yun hiding behind the rock.
^^^Li Yun felt a surge of anger. He wondered how Chen Xuan had found out about the cave. Did he follow him? Or did he have some other source of information?^^^
Li Yun decided to wait until Chen Xuan left, then sneak out of the cave. He didn't want to confront him, as that would waste time and energy.
But as he watched Chen Xuan explore the cave, he saw something that made his blood boil.
^^^Chen Xuan walked towards another corner of the cave, where there was a small altar. On top of the altar, there was a jade box with intricate carvings on it.^^^
Li Yun recognized it as one of the hidden treasures of the academy. It contained a rare cultivation technique that could enhance one's elemental power.
He had found it in his previous life, but he had been too late to open it. Chen Xuan had arrived before him and snatched it away.
Li Yun had never forgiven him for that.
...He watched as Chen Xuan reached for the jade box, his eyes gleaming with greed....
Li Yun couldn't let him have it again. He decided to act.
He jumped out from behind the rock and threw his sword at Chen Xuan.
The sword flew through the air and hit Chen Xuan's hand, causing him to drop the jade box.
Chen Xuan screamed in pain and turned around. He saw Li Yun standing there, holding another sword.
"Li Yun! You bastard! How dare you attack me!" Chen Xuan shouted, his face twisted with rage.
"Chen Xuan, you don't deserve that treasure. It belongs to me," Li Yun said, his voice cold and firm.
He charged at Chen Xuan, ready to fight for what was rightfully his.
