...Chapter 4: Forgiveness ...
Li Yun and Chen Xuan clashed in the cave, their swords sparking with each strike. They were evenly matched, both having reached the peak of the Qi Condensation stage.
They exchanged blows, each trying to find an opening in the other's defense. They moved with speed and agility, dodging and parrying each other's attacks.
Li Yun had an advantage, though. He had the memories of his previous life, where he had learned many secrets and techniques that Chen Xuan didn't know.
He decided to use one of them now.
He feinted a slash at Chen Xuan's head, then quickly changed his direction and stabbed at his chest.
Chen Xuan reacted instinctively and blocked the stab with his sword. But he didn't notice that Li Yun had infused his sword with a special type of Qi.
It was a Qi that could penetrate through metal and flesh, reaching the core of one's body.
It was a Qi that could disrupt one's meridians and organs, causing severe damage and pain.
It was a Qi that Li Yun had learned from a secret manual that he had found in his previous life. It was called the Piercing Qi Technique.
As Li Yun's sword touched Chen Xuan's sword, the Piercing Qi Technique activated. A sharp pain shot through Chen Xuan's body, making him scream in agony.
He felt his blood boil and his vision blur. He felt his strength drain and his sword fall from his hand.
He collapsed to the ground, clutching his chest.
Li Yun withdrew his sword and looked at Chen Xuan with a cold expression.
"Chen Xuan, you've always been a thorn in my side. You've always tried to humiliate me and steal what was mine. But not anymore. Today, I'll end your miserable life," Li Yun said, raising his sword for the final blow.
But before he could strike, he heard a voice behind him.
"Stop! Don't kill him!"
Li Yun turned around and saw Su Yan standing at the entrance of the cave. She had followed him after hearing the commotion.
She looked at Li Yun with a shocked and worried expression.
"Li Yun, what are you doing? Why are you trying to kill Chen Xuan?" she asked, her voice trembling.
Li Yun lowered his sword and sighed. He felt a surge of guilt and regret.
He knew that Su Yan was a kind and compassionate person. She didn't like violence or killing. She wouldn't understand why he had to do this.
He looked at her with a pained expression.
"Su Yan, I'm sorry. I know you don't approve of this. But I have my reasons. Chen Xuan is not a good person. He's done many evil things to me and others. He doesn't deserve to live," Li Yun said, trying to justify his actions.
Su Yan shook her head and walked towards him. She reached out her hand and touched his face.
"Li Yun, I don't care what he's done to you or others. Killing him won't solve anything. It will only make you more like him. It will only make you lose yourself," she said, her eyes filled with tears.
She looked at him with a sincere and earnest expression.
"Li Yun, please don't do this. Please don't become someone I can't recognize. Please don't lose your humanity," she pleaded, her voice soft and gentle.
Li Yun felt his heart melt. He felt a wave of emotion wash over him.
He looked into her eyes and saw the love and concern that she had for him.
He realized that she was right. Killing Chen Xuan wouldn't make him happy. It would only make him more bitter and hateful.
He realized that he didn't want to lose Su Yan. He wanted to be with her. He wanted to make her happy.
He dropped his sword and hugged her tightly.
"Su Yan, you're right. I'm sorry. I won't kill him. I won't become someone you can't recognize. I won't lose my humanity," he said, his voice choked with emotion.
He kissed her softly on the lips, then whispered in her ear.
..."Su Yan, I love you."...
Su Yan smiled and hugged him back.
..."I love you too, Li Yun."...
...They embraced each other for a long time, forgetting about everything else in the world....
...They didn't notice that Chen Xuan was still alive, barely breathing on the ground....
...They didn't notice that he had heard everything they said, and that he had seen everything they did....
...They didn't notice that he had a look of hatred and resentment on his face....
...They didn't notice that he had sworn to himself that he would get revenge on them someday.........
