Bankelal

Bankelal

Prologue

In the Hindu Mythology, when there was nothing in the universe, the formless God himself thought of starting everything. Thus he divided himself into three equal parts thereby creating three equally powerful entities (together called as 'Tridevas' or Tri-Gods) namely Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh.

God thus gave the three prime entities three different jobs.

G: Generator Brahma

O: Operator Vishnu, and

D: Destroyer Mahesh

These three entities or the prime Gods of all made up the word 'GOD' itself thus describing how they were created by God.

Brahma was given the task of creating the world. Being the four headed (later got only three heads), all knowing and the most intelligent deity in the entire universe he knew everything and thus wrote the fate of every little being. Later on Brahma also created other 330 Million Hindu deities only to divide all the work of the universe among them.

Vishnu (also known as Narayana) was the most handsome being in the entire universe and was given the task of Operating the Creation of Brahma. Whatever fate Brahma had decided for every being has to be done by Vishnu himself. Vishnu thus had the job to protect and manage Brahma's world. Thus he vowed that whenever any harm would come to this world, he would incarnate himself in some form to destroy the evil that would be harm to the world. He is the only one out of the Tridevas who has no attachment to the material world and thus has the highest spot in this regard among the three deities.

Shiva or Mahesh, is the most fearsome yet very kind among Tridevas. He has a third eye on his forehead that holds the power to destroy Brahma's creation in one blow when the time comes. He holds the mighty Trishula or the Shiva-Trident that is supposed to be as strong as Vishnu's Sudarshana-Chakra.

Shiva is always in deep meditation of Vishnu, while Vishnu is in deep meditation of Brahma and Brahma is in deep meditation of Shiva, thereby creating a cycle that runs the entire Universe.

***

Our story begins when a woman from the mortal world started praying to Lord Shiva asking for a child as she was childless. Being a great Devotee of Shiva, she impressed him with her true prayers.

Thus Shiva showed and granted her a baby boy. However the boy was so mischievous that after a certain event Shiva cursed him out of anger. But when he calmed down, Shiva realized that the Boy was just a child. Thus, he reduced the effect of the Curse and thus said that whenever the boy would try to do something bad, that would only bring good results.

This boy was called Bankelal.

Later on he became one of the ministers at the court of King "Vikram Singh". But Bankelal (shortened as 'Banke') had some other plans.

He simply wanted to slaughter King Vikram and get a hold of the throne.

Will he succeed? Or will the curse of Lord Shiva come into effect?
