Chapter 2

#2

In the mid-way the king smelled something  bad and asked the Gatekeeper whether a rat or something was dead to which he replied in negative.

When the king reached the royal-Hospital he could see an old man nothing less than a skeleton who had just come to his senses. It could be easily predicted from his looks that he had not eaten anything for days and must have travelled a long distance.

"Oh! My dear King!" the Old Skeleton spoke in a low voice.

'He looks like shit!' King Vikram Singh thought. Then he spoke to the royal Doctor, "What has happened to him?"

"Your Highness, he is suffering from malnutrition. His liver is totally damaged. He can neither eat nor poop! His excretory system are so damaged that he keeps on farting every minute. " Replied the Doctor.

"So that was what I smelled from far distance!" King said. "You said Malnutrition? So there are people in my kingdom who are dying of hunger?"

"M...M...My lord…" screamed the old man. "My Lord, I'm from Lalgarh. My name is Lakhiya. Please... please save Lalgarh. People are dying of drought and famine... Hungry Vultures are eyeing over dying people."

"Don't worry I am going to look into the matter right at the moment." King Confirmed.

The weak and old man resumed, "My Lord… if you don't provide accommodations to my friends and families, then you'll be held responsible for their death! "

After saying these words the man dies.

Hearing those unpleasing words King Vikram Singh gets serious and starts crying. "Bu...hu...hu...hu… Oh my Lord! What a fate!! Here we are preparing for a grand celebration and there... people are dying of hunger! Bu...hu...hu...hu!!!"

Head Minister Dharam Singh was also there. He had a very thin moustache and was in his 60's although he had a good physique.

Dharam Singh then commenced "Dear Lord, we should arrange food, money and other stuffs for the people of Lalgarh as soon as possible."

Then they left for the court. All the arrangement for Lalgarh was left in the trustworthy hands of Head-minister Dharam Singh. In a few hours, Dharam Singh presented himself in the court with the news.

"Your Highness… I have prepared all the stuff including food, clothing and money in 10 Carriages." Dharam Singh said.

King asked - "But who will take care of these and go there to look after and manage everything?"

Dharam Singh replied - "I propose I should go there, Dear Lord."

"But Dharam Singh, if you go there who will be taking care of the royal guests in the celebration? Even, the Commander is not here. Only if he were here, I could have sent him."

At that very moment entered Vikram Singh's special Adviser Minister, Hasmukh Lal (one who is always happy) and said, "O My Great Lord… pardon my intrusion but I should say that no one other than the Great Bankelal*** can do this job. I think he is the perfect fit!"

"Hmm… Bankelal… That's right! He can do this job perfectly My Lord!" exclaimed Dharam Singh.

"Bankelal! Oh yes… You're right Hasmukh Lal ji… You have solved this problem. Great job! My dear Bankelal is a perfect fit for this kind of work." King said happily.

(**the word 'ji' is added after any one's name in India to show respect for him/her though it may or may not be used)

Hasmukh Lal then said - "Pardon please my lord but that's what I get paid for!"

Suddenly king Vikram ordered Dharam Singh to fetch his dearest minister Bankelal at once.
