Episode 5 : Link in guns

"Now, do it again!" I've been trying to use my power for like hours, all I do is to pose and scream like a fucking idiot. I thought that it might work since the last time I used my power; everything goes sparkling.

What was it that made me use my power?? Yui said that its emotion and I've been busting my *** which to tap into but no luck, ending my entire day looking for hope to cling on.

"You know, I don't expect you to get anything out today. So why don't we raise the stake?" Yui starts proposing something to me, but I don't know what.

"What's the stake and payload?" I ask.

"Simple, every day, when you don't get something done, you get me and ONLY ME that Wagyu noodle store, and when YOU did something, I'll pay for the meal." Yui keeps smirking on me. I don't particularly appreciate where this is going. Not at all.

"And why should I accept that stake? I mean, if I don't get a load, You'd be taking a lifetime—breakfast, lunch, and dinner."

"hmm...how about we keep up with this stake until you can finally beat my ***? I mean, if you keep this up, either one of us is getting fat and robust." She lets out a ridiculous smile with her teeth flashing out on to me. That...honestly doesn't sound so bad. This challenge can keep me from slacking, and I can save up some cash in the long run once I have gotten used to my own.

Well, in life, you've got to have some goal to keep yourself fit in some ways. Not that I don't have a goal back in my days, but I do, and most don't come from me. I like things nice and smooth, and its because of those significant little challenges that keep my blood pumped up.

"Fine! If I got some new moves or anything I get being demi-god, I'm getting my steak, and you better not back out on this one!"

"**** yeah! You're on! I'm going to get my hot steamed tuna with sweet and sour cream." We both can imagine the taste already, Prepare your wallet you little bitch.

Kunino suddenly went out of her room, looking doozy and grimy. I forgot about her while doing cardio today. She stays up all night long for a lookout on Ghost then deal with Stainas early in the morning till eleven AM. She flings herself down from the room, which about four floors high and landed like a marshmallow on the first floor.

She yawns and rolls herself to the toilet. Yui and I just stood by and gandered her from afar. For someone who has the power of a god, she still is a child. I turned around and asked Yui, "How old is she?"

"She's fifteen."

"Fifteen and she already deal with life-threatening situations and guns? At that age, I'm still doing my homework. How the hell did someone like her end up in a slop like this?"

"Uhh? Demi-god stuff? Plus, she's doing pretty well on her own. She was alone before she found me then, Ogu." She exclaims proudly to have Kunino by her side as she looks at Kunino washes her face. That eyes, that dark circle under her eye, that attitude and wistful glance. She's supposed to enjoy her youth, going to school, hanging out with friends and family. Instead, she got this dreadful life. A power that can resemble the Gods that once inhabit this world on her, greeted with cold fear, no warmth, just the smell of the rusting metal and wanted for blood.

Ogu suddenly taps my back, "Yo!" he cheerfully greets us both with a dashing grin.

"Right! We just met a few days ago and forgot to say hi since yesterday—name's Ogu Aegisalt." I Assess his looks and body. He's got the body of countless man's dream, big and strong. A gentle giant, judging from his looks, he's about my age working with a carefree sentiment.

"Imaro Sentoukai."

"Ohh! I heard about you. They call you the genius of the Soverin, rival to the canyon tech company! You're all over the place ever since the company mentioned how great you are." Ogu showers me with compliments that I hate so much.

"I'm not that great. I fucking hate those people, and for the love of fucks, don't call me the 'Genius of Soverin.'" I diss him back, and I know it's not pleasant, but I'm sick of that nickname.

"Woah-Woah! Relax! No need for the tension wants to get along with each other." Ogu then sits right next to me as he taps my shoulder, I like how he sounds so apologetic, for the very least he's considerate.

"Since you're both here, tell me what your power is," I ask them both out of the blue.

"Haha! I see you're excited about Demi-gods power already. Mine can absorb runic energy and change my body with it." Ogu's answer sounds bewildering for me to swallow. What the ****?

"hah?"

"Imaro, when he touches something like fire, he can imbue that fire into his body or anything he moves and becomes a fire. Most demi-god that can control elemental power can turn themselves into it." Ogu started cracking his finger and decided to show his power for me to watch.

He touched the ceramic floor, and slowly, his skin changes into the same ceramic that he feels.

I have never seen these kinds of shit before, and it felt like you're in a fantasy movie with a superpower shit. Ogu's ceramic skin felt smooth as an antique vase, slick, and fluid. He then takes a lighter and burns his hand; he didn't scream; he didn't even flinch. His jacket absorbed the fire and engulfed his entire body with flame. It's incredible, so ridiculous, yet it freaking exists right in front of my eyes. I can't even blink, and I wanted to see more of this.

I went closer to Ogu, circling his body as I inspect his body. I take my sword out and nudge his body, and yes, his body is still there, he's just drowning in the flame without taking any injury. He then held my sword and turned his body into the same steel as my sword.

"From what I've heard, you have yet to know your power, right?" Ogu Ask.

"No. No idea."

"No, you've used it at least once, especially when you became a demi-god for the first time. What did you do?"

"I-I...I was surrounded by lightning and—wait for a second, I killed a snake with a flash of lightning coming out out my hand before Yui and kunino came to me."

"A what? Lightning?" Yui crosses her arm indecisively and starts thinking. Suddenly she gasped and looked at me, "RIGHT!! There was a lightning storm before we came!"

"So...Demi-god uses its power at the very first start of becoming one? I thought that was some random shenanigans going on around and killed my friend!"

"Or so you thought. Sike!" Ogu and I shrug it off, and for the record, that was a bad joke, I hate that.

-Veyron's Office-

"Sir, the guy that you wanted to see, Dyo Rapahell is waiting on you at the interrogation room." Avadel report.

"Thank you and tell the guards to stand guard, including the outer perimeter." Veyron is a charismatic man, with power and strict ruling. He's not your everyday boss. He upholds a unique individual and rewards his underling for having faith in him.

A great ally and a terrible foe, He has that smooth, glorious white hair that stretches over from his head to his hips. He has sharp-looking red eyes. Not your average boss when it comes to his looks, but the way he does things need to be considered 'above professional.'

Under his jurisdiction, Yonaguni became one of the most worth-living cities in the world. But his orders are absolute, too strict for many, and here he is dealing with demi-gods.

"Yes, sir." Veyron walks out of his office and head over to the underground where the interrogation room is. Slowly he takes his steps, thinking about his next move what it will be. The man, the Bounty Hunter, has guns. No matter who wields it, it is still gun, meant to kill someone to whoever is willing to pull the trigger.

The man is sitting, just sitting. No waiting in the corner, no gun because the guard took it out for the safety of the interrogation, and the man still brought this unpleasant aura with him.

His style of clothing is similar to a businessman class, presumably above it. A beautiful slim hair cut that it's evident that it is trimmed every week.

"Thank you for your patience."

"Is that it?" The man twitches and itches over his finger, an itchy finger to pull something like a gun, but the sensation of the room became a ruin—an unforgiving cold.

"I'd like to make a deal here that can benefit both of us. IF you'd like to listen to it."

"Cut to the chase." Veyron raises his eyebrow and shrugs it off, and reveal him the project anti-demigod and the photo of the dead body on Bunker 07. Dyo slides the document over to himself and reads it slowly. The guard outside and his back is pointing a gun at him.

"And? Your point? What do you want?" Dyo wants it loud and clear. It's becoming evident that he wants everything he can get.

"My associates were nearly killed. Luckily he was quick-witted and made a run for it. I want you to find this, Ghost." It turns out that Mich managed to escape because there is a hidden railway under every bunker shows in the document. But the most disturbing part of this meeting was the fact that Ghost is in Yonaguni, and Veyron wants her down.

"The myth, the legend, in exchange. I want Kim Solace." Dyo reply.

"For?"

"Dead by my hand."

"I'm afraid that I can't let you do that."

"Then the deal is out, either you give me Kim Solace or no." Veyron has made up his mind. He taps his finger, rhyme like a metronome, and the moment he stops. All of the eight guards fire their weapon to one man, breaking the glasses, the table, the walls, and Veyron just stood there without any flinching and untouched.

"..."

Veyron lost the fight. He suffered a significant amount of information to a killer, and it turns out that Dyo can exchange his place with a shadow, which he escapes with the document he had. It was no wonder why Dyo was confident enough to walk into the room without a weapon knowing that he's going to get shot in-case he said no. Veyron is a man with integrity; anyone who agrees with him means a lot to him more than those who have no set of rules in their life.

Everyone in that room was surprised that Dyo rapahell was a demi-god, Veyron kept his cool and carry on as nothing has ever happened, proceeding his next plan to counter the situations.

"Avadel, Tell PAD (Project anti-demigod) squad to assemble here in the morning at eight, and please prepare a copy of my latest document for them." Even at the sight of failure, he has a backup. His team is consists of an exceptional individual who follows the same goal as he is, and he was not going to stand for another lenient for the opposing demi-god, Kunino Hikari.

"Yes, Sir, I'll prepare the document and make the call for the entire team. In the meantime, You have an appointment with Lennendam's mayor, Sir Lennen, about the demi-god at seven PM tonight." Veyron swung his left arm and looked at his watch, which points out at five forty-five.

"Thanks for the reminding, now go as plan." Veyron brushes the shard of glass and dust of his coat and leaves the interrogation room. Avadel then asks the remaining guard to clean and repair the entire room.

"The rest of you, on me."

"Yes Madam Avadel."

-Yonaguni, District Hashima-

"Well, that didn't go as plan..." Dyo zipped his coat and kept the document for the time being.

*Beep....beep...beep

"Hmm? Who would call me at this time?" Dyo answer the phone, and it was Stainas.

*It's me, Stainas.

"Oh. Okay."

*Don't okay me. I got an excellent job, you in?

"Depends, Do I get Kim Solace if I do this job?"

*Hahaha, we're up against Veyron and his team, pretty sure Kim is going to be there.

"Let me guess, Kunino Hikari"? Dyo unzips his coat and finds a photo of Kunino.

*You're quick to catch up.

"I'm in."
