Episode 4 : Woman in White

A limitless Runic Force. What does it mean? Does it mean I can use my powers without limit? I'm alone in one of the empty shops and a thin bed, Kunino is just next door searching stuff or maybe reading since her room has lots of books and a laptop.

This shit is honestly bizarre like honestly, and it's like a game without a stats or anything just pure powers and the whole shit of why demi-gods are neither good or evil. I hope that Reiko is okay at home alone. W-W-what the **** am I suppose to tell her? Hassou...is gone, and it's my fault for the part for picking random shit up.

I took a deep breath and took a good look at my life from the last two days. Two days! I turned into a demi-god and probably deemed as a wanted criminal if I show any sign of it, and if I surrender myself, everyone would be in danger and possibly mine as well. I've seen how people treat demi-gods. Just because you had powers, everyone just turned their backs on you. What if Reiko did that to me?

*BAM!!

Yui and Ogu were gasping to breathe as if they ran from where ever they are. Kunino instantly bolts out of her room, jump out from the third floor and help both of them, I uh had to walk down the stairs.

"Are both of you okay?"

"Hah...yeah...Holy ****, that was a close call." Yui slams herself to the floor while Ogu settles down his bag and sits down, both looking exhausted.

"What happened?" it was clear to me, for the very least, that Kunino is worried more about both than the mission.

"White Ghost is the town! It killed everyone on bunker 07!" It was at this moment I saw Kunino's face turned pale.

"uhh...who?"

"I'll explain it in the morning. I'll watch the area, then Yui can take over after me." Kunino gulps down her fear and tries to stay calm. Kunino then uses her metal to help Ogu stand up and went over to his room.

"Hey, Yui? Who the hell is White Ghost?" she turns around, confused yet looking so relieved at the same time.

"I'll tell you, but if tonight I tell you all to run, you all run. Promise me."

"Alright-Alright, I promise, so tell me, I want and need to know as well!" We both start walking back to my room slowly. She tells me the story of the White Ghost.

Whoever White Ghost is, we all have no idea, but the people of Yonaguni, especially mobs and gangbangers, are terrified of it. Kunino and I saw it once during our mission. We were supposed to get intel for one of our friends, so we head over to one of the most known mobs in town, The Ashvalley. When we arrived, everyone was dead. We got the intel, but both of us were traumatized for what we saw. Everyone there was killed, frozen with no sign of bruises, broken bone, or even bleeding. Some of them were even standing still, taking a cigar then frozen to death. We got the intel, but before we left, we saw a sight of the ghost. It had red-eye and thick fog suddenly rise, that feeling of cold was haunting as that thing stares you down. Both of us ran away, and that sight was no joke.

"Could it be that the ghost is a demi-god?"

"I'm sure of it."

"So why did you tell me to run if you meet one here?"

"Well! You're fast at catching the balls! It's because I can't die at all." Yui laughs awkwardly.

"What do you mean you can't die at all?!"

"Well, it's my power! I regenerate."

"Hah?"

"Enough about me! Did you get to know what is your power?" Yui excitedly awaits my answer like a kid waiting for his mom to get him candies.

"I uh...I don't know. Kunino told me that my powers are extraordinary. But I don't feel like it."

"Hmm! I can help you with that~" She stood up and suddenly thrilled with energy. I can see parts of her power, she doesn't just regenerate wound, but I guess stamina too?

"How?"

"Well! Kunino always told the other Demi-gods that to use their power, you need to elevate your emotions! Eventually, you will tap into one that will suit you." I thought of her to be an idiot type, but I guess I was right.

I look at my hand and wonder if I can even use my power like that, I'm honestly speaking that I kept a few of my emotions in control for many reasons.

"Alright, I'll leave that thinking for you. For now, take a rest. I'll keep my eyes peeled for now till we're safe." Yui changes the subject and heads out of the room.

The night continues, I heard a siren from the room, red and blue lights flashing from the window. I lie down on the dirty bed, thinking how am I going to live like this, being wanted all over the place. It honestly felt terrifying; the terror shooks your body and made you think about it whenever things go wrong. It pushes you back to your instinct, to abandon your morality.

I'm cold; there's nothing to cover me. There is nothing to keep me warm then I heard a faint whispering voice outside. It was Yui and Kunino trying to be as quiet as possible, and I was pretending to sleep when Yui steps into the room. She took off her hoodie and lay it down on me. Her hand felt warm, and I guess she knew that I was cold. All that's left on her is just a tank top and jeans. She lies down on the floor, taking a nap. It bothers me to watch someone sleep like this.

I'm not a great engineer supervisor to the boss. Whenever the big boss decided to show up and **** things up for us, I decided to stand up against them. I was that kind of employee where I'm doing great, and the company can't afford to fire my butt. It's a title of privilege and yes I'm arrogant enough to defend my co-worker who hasn't reach my level to work like me, the truth about work all over the world is that they would expect lots of shit from you while paying and treating you the same way as the way things are. Most bosses have the privilege to have high pay while doing nothing much while we workers expect everything to have it excellent for both. I never like the idea of 'you work for me.'

Seeing Yui giving her hoodie to me felt like she's me doing something right even though it's okay not to do it at all. I woke up, gave her back her hoodie while she snores at her sleep.

The Siren slowly went silent, and the skies are getting brighter. I needed the toilet, so I went out of the room and saw Kunino walking around.

"Morning, you rest well?"

"sort of, any toilet?"

"The only toilet working here is the first floor, and by the way, here's your weapon."

"that's...the hilt that I took. Do you have some metalsmithing around here?" it felt like brand new, the hilt that I took was covered in dirt and fungi, but now it looks incredible. The grip got a blue stripe made out of blue rubber, and the edges got some pattern like a real Katana, the scabbard got a beautiful copper-like colour with a dragon pattern from the top twisting down to the end. Honestly, it felt heavy, and I've never used a sword before.

I realized then there was a hard pocket hooked right on the sheath, it was a gun—a handgun. I've never used any of these, and I might need Yui to help me out.

"Well, I have magnetic power to reshape any kind of metal?." Of course, I forgot about her power.

I head down to the first floor and look for a toilet. Surprisingly it's clean, and the water felt icy. There is a tiny little ice sticking at the edge of the sink. Was it that freezing last night? If so, I better get a blanket—a thick one.

"..."

Soon after the toilet, a man came. He was using one of those detective clothes, shady as hell. He was talking to Kunino with a pressuring tone, mix with a drowsy mood. It felt like he'd just drink heavily. For me, something is wrong. I pulled my gun out, slowly approach this weird looking man closely as I inspect him.

"Hey!----HEY!! Stay away from her!!" The two locked their eyes on me and the gun.

"Imaro, calm down. He's not the bad guy."

"I know a man drunk when I see one, so why don't you tell me who is he?" I kept pointing my gun at him just to make sure he won't do anything weird.

"He's Stainas, one of the best Police Agency. He's the one who got your name out of the system for the time being." Kunino explains with a very assuring and calm manner that I put my gun back where it belongs.

"So! You? The genius of the Soverin Company?? I know that hell hole with my feet tied over to my eye~ but rest assured! You're. very safe!" He's so drunk. He shouldn't even be out here.

"How did he even get a job at the Police Agency like this?" I sarcastically insult Stainas.

"Never mind about him, he said your girlfriend just sends you a message."

"whoa whoa...hold up a minute, Reiko is not my girlfriend."

"I honestly don't understand how you can catch things up so swiftly. Here's a letter, don't ask why is it a letter instead of a cildres."

"Imaro, I'm sending you this because commissioner Stainas told me it would be much safer instead of cildres. So, I just wanted to tell you that I'm okay to ease your burden and commissioner sent someone like you here to watch over me. More importantly, how are you?? What happened back there? And I heard the things that happened to Hassou and... I'm sorry, please be okay, I know you're going to get this through.

Don't worry about me, just do what you need to do to come home safely.

"Fucking hell..." I fold the letter and slide it into my pocket. Reiko knew everything thanks to this guy, at least that's one thing that I can trust with this...shady little commissioner.

"You're welcome." Stainas lets out a disgusting smirk on me.

"I didn't, and I don't wanna thank you at all..." We both chuckled knowing that there is at least something that both of us can put up with.

"Okay! Now that Stainas has sober up and you've calmed down, I think it's about time you know what's the next step of our plan." Kunino took her Cildres out and gave it to Stainas.

"Plan?" Stainas insert Kunino's cildres into tiny little projector that looks like a flashlight.

"My associates decrypted the report about the incident that happened two days ago, and that report was debunked by someone named Mich Sebastion. For what it's worth, we failed. Ghost intercepted our plan to engage on Mich and took it on Itself. Yui and Ogu found the remaining Cildres containing sensitive files called the Project Anti-Demigod that Veyron is his team has been working on."

"i get what the Project Anti-Demigod but what gives?" I ask.

"A Project to create tools can detect a demi-god and eliminate them, It seems that Veyron has also classified demi-gods by class and level and strangely a type of aura. Veyron used it on the streets by now and it could be worse when the day goes on and on." Stainas shows a photo of many prototype that is being used for the project.

"By this means that the project is already halfway through, we need more demi-god to fight alongside us if we're going to intercept the entire compound." Kunino begins to rub her forehead about what she has right now.

"Luckily, I found one guy who can do just that." Stainas switch the layout of his cildres and shows another person, a Bounty Hunter. Goes by the name Dyo Rapahell. "This guy is also a demi-god, he works with the shadow and mostly plays with his guns. We're going to ask him to help. Otherwise, he'll be a target as well."

"He's basically killing people for money. So why don't we just shove brick tons of cash into his mouth?"

"Not that easy, His parent was a member of Gloria. A Group of expert assassins and killer that killed seven political figures and two hundred and forty-two mad scientists. What's worst is that he wanted the entire line of Gloria dead, He's been sending a clear message around the world." Stainas shows a photo of people hanging across a building, decapitated from the mouth, limbless body...are we even sure to pick this guy as the part of the team?? Both Kunino and I looked at each other and probably was thinking the same.

"Stainas, we're trying to keep demi-gods name in a peace treaty here. There is no need for a guy like this who can kill without hesitation!"

"And take a good look around you! We can't have this peace treaty that you wanted for now! This is two sides trying to kill each other and day by day, they flash out your numbers without hesitation, why can't you do the same??"

"That's what i am trying to do, there is no need for someone to die. The more of this thing keeps happening, is a lot worse for what anticipated and we need to stop the project by wrecking the data and stop the production of any kind." Kunino is getting frustated that her option is getting cut off.

"I'll go for it." i volunteer myself for the job.

"Imaro, You can't even control your powers yet."

"That's the point, i'm the genius and the engineer here. as we progress, i'll get to know what my power is and hopefully turn the tide, we're getting this...Dyo guy here, i'll talk to him."

"That's one hell of a guts and stupidity at one guy for someone calling himself a genius." Stainas seems to agree with my argument, but still he laughed at me for being so optimistic at this point of time.

"Oh you have no idea...."
