Episode 78

Anna, sweetheart, have you had lunch? It's getting late.

"Yes, don't worry, I already did." I plant a kiss on her forehead. "Should I have them bring you lunch?"

"Don't bother, I have no appetite and I need to go out."

"Go out? You promised to spend the day with us."

"Yes, but I need to earn a reward tonight." She smiles, understanding my words.

"Alright, just make sure you don't take too long."

"Okay."

As I descend the stairs, I glance at my phone to call Jeremy, who is arriving in the city today. I haven't had the chance to introduce him to his nephews yet.

At that moment, the nanny comes up and accidentally trips over me. I catch her to prevent her from rolling down the stairs.

"I'm sorry, sir." She hurriedly apologizes.

"Be more careful next time. I look at her closely, her face feels familiar to me."

"Is there something wrong, sir?"

"Do I know you from somewhere else?" She smiles and shakes her head, but her smile only reinforces my idea.

"Perhaps we have met in another life, Mr. Thompson."

"Take something to eat to my wife and help her with the kids, she's exhausted." Her smile fades, she nods and goes back downstairs to the kitchen. I don't give it more importance than it deserves and continue on my way.

I call Jeremy and he answers immediately.

"Hello, Nicholas. How's it going, brother?"

"Good. And you?"

"My flight has been delayed a bit, but I will definitely be traveling today."

"Are you coming to stay at my house?"

"No, I'll stay with my girlfriend. I'll come visit you tomorrow since I'll be arriving very late."

"Sounds perfect, I wasn't going to stop you today anyway."

"Haha, as always, so polite."

"You know I'm not good at that, I have no filter for saying what I think, feel or want. But I'll be waiting for you tomorrow, bring your girlfriend, I'll also invite Ericsson since he's in Los Angeles too. I want us to be together as a family."

"Are you sick, lone ranger?"

"Stop talking nonsense, nanny misses you. We'll talk tomorrow."

"See you tomorrow then."
