Episode 7

Back at the hotel, I think that I must find a place to stay, preferably something small and close to the university, but I'll think about that after the trip. I order something for lunch; the idea is not to die of malnutrition. I barely take a bite, trying to force myself to eat something, but the knot in my throat won't allow it. I need to do something to uplift my spirits, so I'll call Elena. Maybe going out for a while will help distract me.

"Hello," she answers on the second ring.

"Hey, what are your plans for tonight?"

"The same as yours, just tell me the place and time." That's Elena, the best friend anyone could have.

"Perfect, I'll text you. Thanks!"

"It's time for my next class, see you tonight. Love you."

"Love you too."

I go to bed, so many things to do, but I really don't have the energy. Just when I close my eyes, there's a knock on the door. Whoever it is must be in a hurry with such a thunderous knock. Reluctantly, I get up and open the door, letting him in.

""You're a cunning woman! Didn't my money matter to you? I almost believed it, if not for this."Nicolas says, throwing some papers onto the bed. Without understanding, I pick them up and read a little. It was a list of properties, financial statements, company names in which he's listed as a shareholder, and another as an owner."

""I don't understand. What does this mean?"I ask. He applauds with a fake smile."

""Your mask has fallen. Who are you trying to fool? Your father is well aware of everything about me and my financial state. According to him, he demands a fair compensation for his little traumatized daughter, who not only lost the man she loves but also had her virginity stolen. And so, I must make amends by giving her half of everything I own.
