Episode 3: Palace ball

Chapter 3:

The house Handell was invited to the royal ball held in the royal palace to celebrate the coming of age of the two unknown princes, it is a law here in Ivaesian kingdom that all ladies and gentlemen that reach at the age of 18 will debut in high society. And along those ladies and gentlemen is Cecelia. She turn 18 two months ago.

The ball was a masquerade ball to conceal the identity of the twin Princes. It is a law also in the palace that the identity of the princes will be hidden in the public until they find a bride. That is why no one knew who they are.

The party haven’t started yet and the royal family haven’t shown their face yet. Cecelia got bored and went to the terrace of the Ball room. Her parents are busy socializing with other nobles. They are neglecting her so she knew they won’t needed her to be introduce to other nobles.

Cecelia hates parties all people are just gathering to advertising themselves, to know who is richer who has the most income, talking about the affairs of others and badmouthing someone behind their backs. High society is such a toxic place.

People only showing things what other people want to see.

Cecelia just drink her wine while looking at the main palace that is in front of the ball room.

“hahaha oh if it isn’t Lady Cecelia Salvatore? Oops, my bad i mean Lady Cecelia Handell.” A lady behind her spoke.

It was Vivian Randoff daughter of Baron Randoff from the west. She has this bitch face that complement her red hair.

“Lady Vivian, nice seeing you here” she said in a bored tone, cecelia wasn’t in the mood to talk and to have a fake facade now, she just wanted to be alone.

“what’s with your tone you bitch...” vivian did not finish her words.

“what does your brother taste?” Cecelia said while glaring at the lady in front of her. Who became pale and shivering in fear after what she heard.

Cecelia wants to laugh seeing Vivian’s stunned face. She move near her and whisper in a very cold tone.

“you better stay away from me, or else you know what will happened.” Cecelia said and give Vivian a sweet smile.

“s-s-s-sorry!!” Vivian said and immediately run away.

“Pathetic!” she said she then went back to her old position in the terrace.

“wow!! That was quick” a baritone voice speaks. Cecelia just close her eyes because of irritation.

“can’t i have a piece of mind here?” she said then face the man behind her. He was wearing a mask and has a blonde hair.

“who are you?” Cecelia ask the man, but he just smirk at her.

“i didn’t expect what you said to Lady Vivian, that was bloody hell .” Cecelia just look at him. Thinking why is he trying to be friendly with her.

“w-w-what a-are you talking about a-about my milord?” she said in a shy manner. Like her usual self. She doesn’t even know this man.

“what?” he was stunned

“i-im sorry if i offended you in any way milord please forgive my stupidity.” She added and bow.

The man was very confuses to her.

“well, then excuse me.”

“w-wait!” the man said but Cecelia already left.

“tch! What an interesting woman.” Prince Lucius said while still looking at the back of the lady.

It wasn’t his intention to eavesdrop to their conversation but he eventually heard of it. Just one phrase coming from the lady’s mouth and lady Vivian had her tongue tied. Such an interesting lady. Her attitude suddenly change in a bit.

“you highness, your father the king is looking for you.” His personal knight Victor said.

“victor, do you happen to know about the Randoff siblings? Vivian and Hanes?” he ask his knight but his knight remained silent.

“i am asking you Victor.”

“umm, that topic has been off limits in high society milord, i heard everyone who talks about it in the west got their head cut. It was baseless rumor after all”

“so what is it?”

“they say that the siblings got involve in ****** acts. That was the west kingdom scandal they carefully hidden.” He just smirk .

“but where have you heard that Your highness? No one in our kingdom knew that.”

“just heard it somewhere.” The guy can’t contain himself from smiling.

Just who is that lady?

“brother! Where have you been?” his younger twin said.

“i just went downstairs, Lucas” Lucius said ,

“tch! Father said you shouldn’t go out right?” Lucas  Wyknight the second prince of the kingdom.

“relax, father is not here yet, it’s not like they gonna recognize us right.” He said.

“and one more thing i met an interesting woman, downstairs”

“so, did you get her name?”

“nope! I didn’t she ran away.”

“are you two ready?” their father King Alfred Wyknight said with their mother on his arms.

“yes, father.”

“then let’s head out.”

“ Announcing! His Majesty King Alfred and Queen Mirida with His Highnesses Crown Prince Lucius Wyknight and Prince Lucas  Wyknight!” The door open and they march down the stairs.
