The beautiful Omega nodded shyly as she looked at him, making the Alpha smile with joy. He couldn't stay away from her; he had felt terrible when he couldn't find her in the cabin and took so long to return.
He had improved his attitude; he took Sasi to bed and would no longer sleep on the furs. He hunted for her and spoiled her for 20 days, doing what mates do, living in harmony. He affectionately called her "little one," and she liked it. When they were more recovered from the intense heat, the Alpha couldn't help but take Sasi to bed again, multiple times. Sasi, on her part, was happy; he was very good to her.
One day, as a snowstorm loomed, Sasi went to the river for water while the Alpha went hunting before they were trapped by the snow. On her way, Sasi noticed the presence of a woman in the woods. It was a remote place, so the girl was confused and wary, but the woman approached her with a warm smile.
"Don't worry, little Omega, I won't harm you. My name is Helen Tieno, and I'm a witch from the coven. I'm here just to gather herbs that grow in these parts before the storm comes," the woman smiled, leaving Sasi more at ease.
"Hello, I'm Sa…" but the woman didn't let her finish.
"I know who you are and why you're here. I'm glad to see you safe. I live on the outskirts of the forest, and I'll keep an eye on you in case you need me," the woman said calmly as she turned in the opposite direction to leave, leaving Sasi with curiosity.
Sasi watched her walk away, wondering why she might need her, but she didn't dwell on it. She went to the river, collected water in buckets, and returned to the cabin feeling a bit tired. Since the previous day, she had been much weaker than she should be, even though most of the heavy tasks had fallen on the Alpha. She grew tired of everything and nothing.
She was excited because that night he promised to reveal his name, and she eagerly awaited it. Being able to say his name was important for mates.
Sasi cooked and boiled water as she waited for her beloved. She had fallen in love with the formidable man hiding behind that grumpy and prejudiced wolf, but she felt that his attitude towards her had drastically changed.
As the snowfall began, Sasi became anxious because he hadn't returned. She tried to go outside, but the snowstorm was intense, so all she could do was wait for his return. The Alpha was fine because she would sense it if he was in danger, so she waited for hours until she fell asleep.
The next day, Sasi continued to wait for him, but he didn't come back. She prepared breakfast and decided to go out to look for him. She went where they usually hunted, but there were no signs of him. She returned to the cabin, hoping to find him, but he wasn't there.
As she started to tidy up, she noticed that the clothes she had made for him during those days and all his belongings were gone. He had taken everything and she couldn't find her snowshoes either. The most painful sensation settled in her heart: he had left. Sasi thought to herself as she silently shook her head, refusing to believe that he had abandoned her and that everything he had said was a lie. He only wanted to have his mate close for as long as possible and then he would leave her, alone and abandoned.
Sasi felt an overwhelming urge to vomit and went to the bathroom to relieve the discomfort. She refused to believe that this had happened. He told her he loved her, that he would take her to his pack and make her his Luna, but it was all a lie. She meant nothing to him. Why would he do this to her? What had she done? Why didn't he leave before the bond grew stronger? Why hurt her like this? Sasi couldn't help but cry; she felt like a foolish and gullible child, deceived by a kind tone of voice.
Sasi never lost hope that he would return, so she waited for them at the door every evening, watching as the snowflakes fell. Her heart shattered each night until she realized that her situation had worsened. Now, she had to be cautious and prudent, and stop going out to look for him. Her swollen belly indicated that she was no longer alone. A small bump appeared after almost two months since mating season. Wolves have a gestation period of four months, and Sasi realized she was pregnant when she felt movements inside her. Regan was happy in his mind, but for Sasi, it was both joy and sadness.
(Have you truly abandoned me?) she thought as she watched the evening fall at the cabin door, gently caressing her belly, while warm tears streamed down her beautiful face.
