Utopia
Gentle waves hug my feet as a warm golden sun coats my shivering body. I feel a sense of peace, one that was never known. But that peace only lasts a second until I opened my eyes and allowed my memories to flood in like a tsunami.
One would expect a class full of noble heirs would be more protected, but it was nothing more than bad luck and us getting what we deserved. All what puzzles me is how I am alive... and if others are alive too.
I face the island that lies before me. Beautiful lush trees lined beyond the sand with a rocky mountain in the heart of it. Clear freshwater springs ran throughout the island. Perfect, this place has enough freshwater and resources to last me and my whole class if they are alive. Interesting, how did an island in such pristine condition not taken over?
I let out a sigh "Since there is no driftwood, it would be best to make a single so any other possible surivores can be notified."
I reached into my pocket and couldn't help the smile that appeared on my face when I pulled out a shard of glass that lied inside it. Wait. That's convenient. A little too convenient. When I tried to remember why I would put a shard of glass into my pocket, but my memories seemed fuzzy. Not good, I thought. Maybe it's because of ending up here, I'll try again later. In the mean time, my attention should be making a fire. I walked over to the lush green forest and picked as many up dry branches, mold, and dry weeds as I could to ensure a fire that that's smoke will alert any survivors. I walked back over to the sand, grabbed my shard of glass and angled it towards the sun which created a flame and dense smoke that reached up to the sky. "That should be good enough. Now all I have to do is wait."
I watched the gentle waves dance through the sea and marveled at the the beautiful sunset that kissed the ocean and colored the sky. I was so immersed in it's beauty that I didn't notice the pair of girls walk up towards the fire that walked up before me. "Um... excuse me... we saw you fire and... we though we could work together to survie?" I looked at her. Anai and Aloi Majelo, 16 year old twins, daughters of a famous entrepreneur who racks in billions. I gave them my warmest smile and spoke in a tone so sweet it was sickening." Hello! It's alright, you dont need to be afraid, we are going to get out of here safe and sound." There faces nervous faces softened and I noticed how adorable their faces were. "Now, do you know if there are any others here?" " Yes" squeaked Aloi "we heard some people but wanted to hurry here as quick as possible." I gave her another sickening smile "well you dont have to worry" I said, giving a real smile when I saw my classmates fill in around the fire.
