What You Must Never Let Anyone Find Out Even Until the Last Moment [1]

It’s at Mom’s house and it’s raining heavily outside. Everyone is there (but Dad). Natalie asks Mom if something – we can’t see it – has special meaning for her. Is it really... important? Mom says that it is. With a hint of exasperation, I might add. I’m getting a little nervous because Natalie’s got closet crazy eyes going on. Mom tells Natalie that she has to treat it previously also. Brief stares off and then Natalie grabs what looks like a giant egg or vase or something. As the dramatic music plays, Natalie lifts it over her head. Grandma is shocked. Cairo yells Natalie’s name. Mom’s mouth is hanging open. Natalie smashes. We hear a crunch that sounds like broken glass. Mom can’t believe that Natalie did it. Cairo is shocked and Natalie looks at Mom with satisfied eyes.

[ What You Must Never Let Anyone Find Out Even Until the Last Moment. ]

Oh, good, I thought they were going to leave what happened with this out… Back to Cairo kissing Natalie by the stuck car. Her eyes close.

Rocco arrives back at the room to wake Kelvin up. Kelvin mutters something about listening and when Rocco gets more insistent, Kelvin plants a huge kiss on him. Kelvin releases a grossed-out Rocco and flops back, laughing. Rocco picks Kelvin up and dunks him in a water barrel. So Kelvin is awake now.

Rocco walks through the woods with Kelvin trailing behind him, complaining about having to go find Zoe at the temple. Rocco is not in a good mood. His mood doesn’t get better once he sees Natalie and Cairo kissing. When they hear Kelvin yell at Rocco, Cairo and Natalie stop kissing and try to look like nothing happened. Rocco tries to pretend he didn’t see anything. Cairo is annoyed that Rocco is back so soon.

Rocco asks about the tow truck; it didn't come yet? Natalie asks about Kelvin who finally appears, complaining. Rocco yells at Kelvin again to hurry! Rocco smiles at Natalie, his usual smile, but she doesn’t smile back.

At the temple, Zoe is praying, which means going up and down on a mat. Kelvin opens the door and pants her name. It takes her a minute to realize it’s him and then she leaves the room, but he follows her. Kelvin starts to offer some lame excuse, but Zoe tells him to go. He’s going to grant her wish, but she starts talking. Of course, she does. Can’t manipulate people without the verbal guilt trip.

Zoe says that to her, it’s a present, but that this present might become an irreversible mistake for someone else, because it might become a catastrophe they want to run away from with all of their strength. She says that because of that, let's just keep it quiet. A gift from heaven, to cherish preciously. A tear runs down her cheek. And I actually don’t think she’s trying to manipulate right now. I'm surprised. Kelvin is sitting behind her, stunned and now crying. She tells Oppa that she’ll make it so he doesn't receive any harm by it. Kelvin wipes his face and wraps his arms around her, hugging her tightly. He cries as he asks why it had to be by a punk like him. Softly, she says “Oppa.” Kelvin nods and turns her to face him. He embraces her in big hug. Totally not the response I expected out of Kelvin and it makes me like him more.

Zoe smiles – a genuine smile. I’m actually touched by this scene. I didn’t expect that. She tells him that she’s not sure what she’s supposed to do. She was so scared. He tells her that it’s okay and he’ll protect her. And then the scene gets a little weird. Kelvin takes off his shirt as sexy music plays. What? He starts to take off Zoe's shirt when, hilariously, the temple monk busts in on them. Heh.

Switch to Zoe and Natalie at work. Zoe smiles at the memory – which makes me like her even more – as Natalie sighs. Manager yells at both of them for being preoccupied and not focusing on work. They are the face that represent the brand so their personal emotions should never be revealed. Natalie starts cleaning and her phone rings. It’s Cairo. She doesn’t answer it and tells herself not to think about it. Zoe hears and asks about it, but Natalie just says that she’s tired. Natalie asks if Zoe having any morning sickness, but she isn’t. She’s quite smiley now.

Zoe tells Natalie not to worry, since she’ll be quitting soon. Natalie’s surprised, but Zoe says that the wedding plans will be too hectic. Natalie’s surprised that they’re moving so fast, but Zoe says that they need to act quickly before she starts showing. Zoe smiles as she says that Oppa going to speak to K.MOM. Natalie’s met K.MOM, so she’s not smiling.

Kelvin is looking through the mail slot, talking to K.MOM. He’s stuck outside the house in his socks and pyjama bottoms. It’s a tiger on his briefs. Hysterical. Two women walk by and are scandalized by his nakedness. He tries to pretend he’s purposely out there, boxing, as more people walk by. Then he breaks and starts shaking the fence of the house shouting that he’s 33 years old! Then he starts to cry. Because that's what a 33-year-old man does when his mommy has locked him out of the house.

K.MOM is walking through the mall, on a mission. Uh oh. Zoe greets her, clueless. K.MOM asks if Zoe is *her*, which Zoe still doesn’t get. Natalie arrives and sees and tries to diffuse things, but K.MOM is obnoxious. How she thinks that this is appropriate, I don't get. Manager arrives and tries to smooth things over, asking if one of her employees made a mistake. K.MOM replies that a mistake is a wrongdoing done by accident. A wrongdoing done on purpose cannot be called a mistake. Manager is confused. K.MOM declares that one is a stalker who endangers her son's life and the other brought her son down on purpose.. they were plotting this together! Wow, K.MOM is crazy.

Manager nicely says that what K.MOM is upset about is something more personal. K.MOM cuts her off, asking how she trained them, that all the wenches who work there are after money! She yells at Natalie and Zoe that the only the reason they’re working there is because they want to mingle with the upper class, isn't it? Is she wrong? Natalie indignantly replies that K.MOM is completely wrong! Manager bows and starts to apologize. Natalie protests that they’ve done nothing wrong. Manager sternly says that they’re disturbing the other guests. A tearful Zoe bows, apologizing, and leaves.

Manager again tries to apologize. Haughty K.MOM declares that because of Natalie, she’s leaving and Manager should train her employees properly! Natalie apologizes to Manager, who responds that she told Natalie not to get personal affairs involved at work. Natalie better make sure this never happens again. Next time, she won’t let Natalie off so easily.

Natalie finds Zoe crying in the bathroom. Natalie can’t believe that not only did K.MOM make a scene and then they’re expected to apologize for it. Zoe replies that when she’s standing there, she’s just a piece of merchandise and not a human being. Doesn’t Natalie ever feel like that? When she stands in the department store for too long, she feels like she’s become a handbag. It’s why she wants to be promoted as soon as possible, so that she’s sold when she’s the newest product, at her highest price, before she’s out of season and transferred to the outlet. Wow, that’s really kind of sad, but explains her scamming for rich Kelvin. Natalie feels bad but Zoe tells her that it’s okay. It was lighter than she expected. She thought K.MOM would slap her or something.

K.MOM puts down the mug she’s drinking out of and declares that she should have slapped Zoe across the face or something. She’s sitting with Mom. Great. Great. Mom tells K.MOM that she kept it in well. K.MOM declares that that Natalie or Natalia or whatever her name is, her actions are despicable! This wMomn is psycho. K.MOM declares that because stalking Kelvin didn't work, Natalie immediately went for his friend and she sets her friend up with Kelvin! What, is this the animal kingdom? How does that make any logical sense? Oh, wait. She's not supposed to be making sense... because she's psycho! Mom replies that stealing a friend's girl and going for an ex-girlfriend's friend is what their sons were doing. Why is Mom being reasonable? This is weird.

K.MOM is surprised, too. K.MOM asks if Mom is going to allow Cairo and Natalie's wedding. Mom leans in and says that K.MOM needs to proceed with the wedding preparations. K.MOM is shocked. Mom says that the desires the daughters are hiding, whether the marriage is pure love or something else, are revealed when they’re with their mothers. K.MOM sees what Mom’s saying.

Zoe is at Bon Café. She can’t believe that K.MOM agreed to the official meeting of the families. Kelvin smiles and tells her that he said she should rely on him. Natalie is there and says that it’s a relief! K.MOM must have had a change of heart when she met Zoe. She congratulates them. Kelvin and Zoe are smiling and they actually look good together, and this is the most relaxed I’ve seen Kelvin. Kelvin wants to know when and Zoe is unsure, since her parents are on a cruise, so they won't be there for a few months.

Kelvin asks what Zoe’s parents do and she says that they run a small business, in the fashion industry. Kelvin seems really pleased with that answer. Natalie is surprised, too. Zoe never mentioned it. Zoe says that she grew up rather independently, so they will probably say she should take care of the marriage on her own since it's her business. Zoe suggests just skipping the family meeting. Kelvin can just meet her parents at the wedding. Kelvin feels funny about that; he thinks that he should at least greet them. Zoe interrupts and says that their Levi is hungry. Kelvin immediately orders food, which Rocco magically has as the words are coming out of Kelvin’s mouth.

Natalie asks about the baby’s name: Levi. They nod. Kelvin tells Zoe to eat a lot, everything she wants. Zoe replies that if she gains weight, she won't fit into her wedding dress. Natalie smiles and declares that she doesn't seem to have anything to be worried about anymore. Rocco asks if Natalie is going already? Natalie replies that she can't stand watching them anymore. As she turns to leave, Cairo walks in the door. He’s happy to see her.

Natalie stumbles back and sits back down at the table like that was her plan all along. Cairo takes the seat next to her. Which, of course he would. Natalie looks at him awkwardly. Then she stands and declares that she should go now! Kelvin grumbles at her for no making up her mind. Rocco tells her to wait a little longer, his work is almost finished. She agrees, saying she’ll be outside, and basically runs out the door. Rocco watches her leave and he’s not happy. Cairo isn’t quite happy but then he smiles to himself because she’s avoiding him. It means that he's getting to her. Heh.

Natalie is waiting outside. Cairo walks up behind her and declares that everyone will notice if she keeps acting like this. She doesn’t know what he means. Quite confidently, Cairo asks her why she doesn’t just write it on her forehead, that they kissed. She immediately puts a hand over his mouth to silence him. Then she puts him in a headlock and drags him off.

Back in the restaurant, Zoe Kelvin asks if he doesn't think there's something off with Natalie and Cairo. They say they're not for real, but they always stick close together. Maybe they grew attached to each other? Kelvin notes that they frequently go to Cairo's house together where Cairo lives alone and Cairo isn't the type to let people in his house easily. Rocco walks up and, scaring Kelvin, asks that they didn’t know that he living with Cairo Bro? Kelvin is surprised. Rocco adds that they sleep while hugging each other tightly. Rocco smiles broadly and says that he’s leaving.

Kelvin looks at Rocco go and concludes that the reason why Cairo doesn't want to marry no matter what is that he’s gay. Zoe butts in to say that Natalie unni and Rocco are dating. Kelvin says that that could be fake as well. He starts scrubbing his shoulder where Rocco touched him. With squeegee sound effects. Heh. Zoe declares that it makes sense.

Natalie drags Cairo up to his office and asks why he’s doing this to her? He asks back why she’s doing this to him? She won’t let him speak with his own mouth. She points at it and declares that that mouth is the problem. All cocky, Cairo asks her why… Does her heart flutter when she see his lips? Does her heart skip a beat? Is she avoiding him? She protests that it’s nonsense! Then she admits that she was avoiding him. She knows that she won’t be able to play it cool and act like nothing happened. She can’t help to talk to him about it when she sees him.

Natalie blurts out, after a pause, does Cairo like her? She’s got her eyes closed like she’s afraid of the answer. He already told you he did. Cairo starts laughing. She opens her eyes and asks why he laughed. He snaps back asking if she wants him to cry. She starts nervously laughing and puts some space between them. She sits in the patient chair at his desk and says that it’s a relief. She was afraid that he had become serious about her. Cairo sits in his chair and it looks like he starts working as she says that she was kind of confused, as to what their relationship is. It definitely was an act, for him to be able to be alone. Plus she has Rocco. She felt sorry but, she thought she had to draw a line.

Cairo protests, asking who draws a line for who?! He told her so many times to not cross the line, but she did it so many times! She uncomfortably laughs and says that it doesn't make sense that he like her, right? Cairo blinks and rubs his eyebrow nervously.

Natalie asks about the kiss. Cairo says that he only did it to shut her up, since she was rattling on so much! This offends Natalie. Cairo asks if she liked it that much. Was she confused whether it was real or not? She yells back that she wasn’t. He is such a bad kisser! This, of course, offends Cairo. He’s about to respond when Natalie says that that kiss had no meaning, right? Cairo naturally declares that of course it doesn't. Natalie declares that, of course, since the day had been so confusing… The sudden vacation, and they drank as well, and she hurt her leg, and Zoe went missing too! Cairo just nodding as she talks.

Natalie continues that they were exhausted, too, because they were looking for Zoe, right? Their logical reasoning just slipped a bit which caused a small accident. That's all, right? Wow. Cairo agrees. Yes, of course, it was a very tiny little accident. Natalie says that they’re erasing it now, right, like it never happened. Cairo says that he had forgotten it already. She’s the one who brought it up again with no reason. She tells him to never let anyone know about it, okay?! He answers back that as long as she watches out, everything will be fine! Angry, Natalie gets up to go.

As Natalie opens the door, she’s startled by Rocco being there. He walks in, smiling, and bows a greeting at Cairo. Cairo asks why he’s there. Rocco replies that he’s there to get Natalie. She asks how he knew she was there. He leans in and says that he knows everything. Cairo’s momentarily nervous until Rocco adds that whatever Natalie does, wherever she is. Not at all stalkerish. Rocco puts his arm around Natalie and walks her out.

As they leave, Cairo’s focusing on his just finished conversation. He can’t believe Natalie said he was a bad kisser. Then he practices puckering. Heh.

Mom is meeting with Mom for coffee. Mom says that last time, she was rude. What?! I sigh with frustration. Mom replies that it’s all in how the person takes it. Mom starts to mention how Mom would want to call off the wedding and Mom back pedals. Mom brings up how Cairo is is still close to Isla, of course Mom would be angry. Mom says that she believe that Son-in-law Cairo will make their Natalie happy. Mom nicely hopes so, but after failing on the first try, hopefully he'll do better on the second. He used to do his very best. But she’s not very confident now.

Mom is listening to Mom talk and thinking, “What's this? How did this get flipped around?” Mom declares that she was thinking wrong. Mom declares that she shouldn't have just put all this on Mom. Something called marriage... One side shouldn't just take care all of it. Oops! I guess that goes with your theory on how the mothers will show what their daughters’ hearts are… Mom smiles and says that that makes her sound assertive. Mom replies that from now on, she and Dad will do their proper job as parents. So could Mom please treat their Natalie properly.

Mom sweetly replies that she was actually being considerate of Mom’s circumstances, but Mom must have mistook it and felt bad. Mom forces the smiles to stay on her face. She says that first, she and Dad will plan the date. Mom’s surprised. And the control freak is just bubbling below the surface. Mom says that she’s heard that the wife's side takes care of that. Mom must have not heard it. Mom sweetly replies that as far as she knows, the husband's side takes care of it. And Mom caves. I was so hopeful for her. Mom sweetly asks Mom to please take care of them, officially now. Mom sighs and thinks, “What's this? Why do I feel like I'm being pushed back, with Mom having the upper hand?” She forces another smile at Mom. I like Mom with a backbone. I can’t wait to see her unleash on Mom and put her in her place!

Natalie and Rocco are silently walking. Natalie almost gets hit by a bicycle, but Rocco pulls her out of the way… and into his arms. Looking at each other, with Rocco definitely wanting to kiss her. She tries to pull out of it, but he doesn’t let her go.

She asks why and he says that it’s because he wants to kiss her.

She awkwardly asks him, “Now, here?” He replies asking her why, can’t he?

Natalie can’t really think of a response for that, so Rocco leans in to kiss her. The phone rings. She shoves him off, protesting about, why of all times would a call come in now?!

She makes a big production over why someone’s calling.

She looks and it’s Cairo.

Irritated, Rocco grabs the phone and answers. Cairo asks why he’s answering. Rocco responds that Natalie is a little flustered right now… And she's all focused on him right now. Face out of Cairo ask he orders Rocco to put Natalie on the phone. Smiling, Rocco suggests Cairo talk to her later. Cairo declares that it’s urgent! Rocco answers that Cairo can just them tell him, then. Rocco stops smiling as Cairo relays that they’re picking a date for the wedding. Natalie is shocked.
