Wei Wuxian immediately was jolted awake as soon as Jiang Cheng yelled out the threat. As someone who enjoyed living very much, he would rather not face the wrath of the great Madam Yu. Lanling Corporation was a giant multimillion dollar company, it's only worthy rival was Gusu Group, with its three hundred years history of manufacturing the best musical instruments in Asia. Compared to them, Yunmeng with only fifty years since its establishment was a much smaller company, albeit making triple and quadruple of other similar businesses.

Which was why Yu Ziyuan was so excited by the prospect of her only daughter marrying the only (legitimate) son of Jin Clan. While Jiang Fengmian busied himself managing the family business, Yu Ziyuan went around establishing business connections to help their company grow. She even forced herself to 'babysit' Wei Wuxian, the only son of her husband's former personal assistant and longtime friend, even though she hated the boy's unruly behaviour.

Solely because Wei Wuxian's mother, Cangse, who also happened to be her arch nemesis before she chose to marry Wei Changze; was also the infamous Wen Ruohan's daughter. Wen Ruohan was married twice and had two children from each marriage - Wen Yanling and Wen Cangse from his first marriage, followed by Wen Xu and Wen Chao from his second marriage. Wen Ruohan's first wife, Xiao Baoshan had divorced him after five years of marriage apparently because Wen Ruohan always chewed with his mouth open. He also smacked his lips when eating, slurped his decaf coffee loudly, and drank his soup with a straw.

His second wife lasted only three years. Not even the temptation of Wen Ruohan's billionaire status and Qishan Group's power that could make Lanling kowtow, managed to make any woman stay.

Xiao Baoshan ran away with her two children, and adopted a son. She started her own private academy, making a lot of money on her own. Wen Ruohan named Wen Xu his successor, but Wen Xu died in his early adulthood from a car accident while Wen Chao was in rehab after getting caught selling cocaine with his girlfriend, Wang Lingjiao. He promptly gave up on Wen Chao, got Baoshan to remarry him, and renamed Wen Yanling as his successor, with the sad promise to eat in a different room with his wife.

Well, long story short, Wei Wuxian had at least fifty million dollars promised to be deposited into his account as soon as he turns eighteen, along with seven percent of Qishan Group's shares. So when Cangse dumped her son to the Jiang family on summer and winter holidays, Yu Ziyuan had a room ready for him. In fact, she kept the room next to Jiang Cheng's exclusively for Wei Wuxian.
