episode three

Ashton’s pov

I walked into the school building enjoying the warm sun of the day. First day of school was always the best. Most of all I was happy to finally be away from home I hate it there especially when I can’t stand them all. I walked steadily with my luggage in hand and my bag pack slung over one shoulder I was so busy enjoying the warm sun when I bump into someone causing him to almost lose his balance. “I’m so sorry” I apologized quickly looking up at the hooded figure unable to identify who it is. The hooded figure completely ignored me as he walked away and I just stood staring after him in surprise. I would have to admit that was pretty rude of him.

I don’t know how long I stood staring after the dude, but I snap out of it when I heard my name I turn around to face my friend Alexander Weston he has a huge grin on his face as he came closer to me “hey ash” he greeted

“Hi Alex” I answered and we began walking side by side.

“I hate to admit it ash but I really missed you.”

“I missed you to Alex. You know how lonely it is back at home” I answered a little sad.

“If you can’t stand them then you should just rent an apartment of your own” he suggested. It wasn’t the first time he had given me such advice but I just can’t leave my dad alone although he hasn’t been the best dad to me.

“I know man but I can’t leave my dad on his own I made a promise to my mum”

Alex scoff “well if I were you I would have left him long ago he hasn’t been treating you like a son after all” I do understand Alex point but the fact is I can’t break the promise I made to my mum.

We talked about other things more like Alex was telling me about his new girlfriend. I shook my head in pity for the girl who is likely to have her heart broken because everyone knew that Alexander Weston is a big time player. Our dorm has already been occupied by two guys who were both unpacking they stared at both of us and we stared back at them. My blood ran cold and my eyes danced with fury when I saw Damon knight as one of my roommates. “What the hell are you doing here?” I asked harshly. “I own you no explanation Cullen it’s not as if you own the school” he replied arrogantly and I swear I almost punch his face

“Calm down ash” Alex said placing a hand on my shoulder “if we are going to live in peace, then you have to put aside your hatred for each other. As it is you are already scaring our other roommate”

I looked towards the other guy in the room who was staring at us curiously, I sighed and said “I’m sorry about that. I’m Ashton Cullen by the way and this is my friend Alexander Weston”

He shook my out straight hand with a smile “Tate carver nice to meet you”

“Same here” I answered and he shook hands with Alex.

After the formalities, we unpacked our stuff. There was going to be a welcoming party for new students organized by the student’s president Julian Winston the guy was a pretty rough guy so I won’t be surprised if the party was wild.

We made our way into the hotel where the party was being organized and like I said it was really wide it looks more of a club than a welcoming party. The three of us Alex, Tate and I found a spot and we stood there talking and sipping on our drink. Well I wasn’t an alcohol person so I didn’t drink much. We stood there talking and laughing when a voice called behind Tate “hi Tate” we all looked in the direction to see a brown haired girl smiling up at Tate.

“Oh hi Sam” he answered his eyes racking over her body. “You look beautiful “he complimented and she blushed and I smiled she seem to like Tate. “By the way” Tate began “meet my friends. Alexander Weston and Ashton Cullen and guys my best friend Samantha sterling”

“Nice to meet you Samantha” I said straighten out my hand.

She took my hand and said “just call me Sammy and it’s a pleasure to meet you Ashton”

She straight her hand out to Alex and instead of taking it he took it and kissed it “nice to meet you Sammy I must say you are a beauty”

Sammy seem confused well she better not fall for his charms because he is a player big time “um___thank you?” she said more like a question slowly releasing her hand from his grip.

“Well I just wanted to say hi” Samantha said to Tate.

He smiled “its okay you can hang out with us” he said smiling. I saw the hesitation in her eyes but one good look at the smile on Tate’s face she nodded and the smile on Tate’s face widen if they like each other why aren’t they together. Tate looks like a decent guy so what’s stopping him from courting the gorgeous beauty who no doubt likes him “so have you met your roommates are they nice?” he asked all in one breath.

“Well” she began hesitating shortly “viviana is the nerd, jade is the trouble maker and alia is the weird one “she answered.

“Are they hot?” Alex asked earning a smack from me on the arm “what the hell man” he whined rubbing his arm dramatically.

“I thought you said you have a new girlfriend bro” I said earning a glare from him.

“Yeah man but it’s not for long”

I shook my head for the poor soul who actually agreed to date someone like Alex or maybe she doesn’t know about his reputation as a player. “So you are the player in the group?” Sammy asked more like stated and I roll my eyes isn’t it obvious.

We all talked for some time and I came to realize that Sammy was a very cheerful person and very nice too she talked to us freely as if she had known us for a very long time. Alex flirted with her but nothing harmful though. After sometime Alex suggested we leave them to talk and I went towards the bar and sat down while Alex went towards some girls at the other end of the bar and I guess he was going to flirt. I ordered a drink and continue watching the love birds as they talked their eyes never leaving each other as if they are the only one in the party. yup they are definitely in love.

I watch them talk and laugh smiling at how good they look together when someone joined into their little party she kissed Tate right in front and I could see the hurt in Sammy’s eyes. Dame I thought Tate was decent. After the mystery girl pull away from Tate he gave Sammy an apologetic look but she only smiled in reassurance acting unaffected by the situation. Wait what the hell is going on I expected her to yell at Tate and walk away but she acts unaffected? After a while the mysterious girl said something to Tate and she began walking towards me. I waited patiently until he came right beside me and order a drink “what’s going on Tate? Who is the girl?” I rushed out impatiently

“That’s Lana Mitchell” he answered with a sigh looking over at the two who seem to be in a n uncivilized conversation “my girlfriend”

My head shot up to look at him at that “YOUR WHAT!” I yelled but his attention was fixed on Sammy and his supposed girlfriend who both look like they are about to tear each other’s head off

“Ash I have to go I’ll explain later” he said and quickly rushes towards them. He got there in time to stop Lana’s hand from landing on Sammy’s cheeks.I watched their exchange although not hearing a thing due to my distance from them and the loud music. I saw Tate yelled at Lana and Sammy apologized and walked away leaving a frustrated looking Tate who looked back at Lana with so much anger before walking away and the bitch just rolled her eyes and began dancing to the beat of the music. Looking back at her I realize she doesn’t look like the kind of girl a guy like Tate would go for her dressed was so expose and revealing. I brush aside the thought and decided to go after Tate but someone sat beside me on the bar stool in a hoodie and that caught my attention as I remembered someone I bumped into in the morning.

“What would you like to have dude?” the bar tender asked.

“A very strong drink” he answered and I gasp it’s actually a girl’s voice. My eyes widen in shock when I realized I must have bump into a girl

“Whoa” the bartender exclaimed “a girl in a party dressed like this, many are dressed to impress the guys but you are hiding under a hoodie” he said and I totally agreed with him why was she dressed like that to a party.

The girl said nothing as she ignored the bartender he in turn place her drink quietly on the counter. I was curious about her so I decided to find out some things about her perhaps why she is wearing a hoodie to a party like this. “Hi I’m Ashton Cullen” I I introduced myself my hands straight out for a hand shake.

She looked at my hand true her hoodie then she replied “alia Rhodes” before drowning her drink.

I withdraw my hand seeing that she has no intention of taking it. Well it won’t be easy to start a conversation with someone who isn’t willing to talk but I might as well try “um____ I’m sure you are here for music. Is it to learn how to play an instrument or to sing?”

“Not your business” she answered rudely and I was surprised. Girls threw themselves at me but unlike Alex I choose to ignore them. I’m not a player but why is this girl different there was something about her I just can’t seem to point out.

“Um____ okay” I laugh nervously but didn’t want to give up “I figured you must be the person I bump into in today. I didn’t get a chance to properly apologize so I’m_______”

“Listen Andrew I’m not interested in your apology so leave me alone” she interrupted and that shut me up because I’ve been trying to make friends with her and yet she doesn’t even know my name.

I sighed. besides I should just leave her alone “alright alia I’ll see you again” I stood up and she didn’t even look up at me and I walk towards Alex who was already drunk and surrounded by lots of girls they were all laughing and clinging to his body.

“Hey handsome want to join us?” one of the girls asked seductively as I approached them.

“I’ll pass” I answered and turned to Alex “hey bro lets go home”

“No man I want to chill with the girls” he answered drunkenly

“You are drunk Alex lets go home” I said and pulled him up ignoring his drunken protest. I supported his weight as I place his arm around my shoulder and we left the party. Tate and Sammy were nowhere to be seen, so I boarded a taxi and went home without Tate. My mind drifted to Alia Rhodes she’s a puzzle that is yet to be solved and man how I love solving puzzles.
