People of The Night..

Gguk’s first night in Euphoria is rather unpleasant..

There are many reasons to it..

New bed, new wind, new house, new bed sheets, new weather and new environment... are more than enough of a reason to why gguk finds it difficult to sleep.. or to be precise.. almost unbearable to sleep..

But those were not the only reasons..

Gguk is also finding it difficult to shut the noises which are currently coming outside in the night..

At one point, he even got down from his bed.. walked to his balcony and tried to look in the deep darkness of Euphoria...

Nothing..

There is silence.. and yet.. everything feels violent in this place..

In this place, cricket’s noise is even more louder than his own heart beat.. his own breath..

But what causes goosebumps to gguk right now is that the cold is chilly and there are noises in the distant...

Gguk knows those noises are at a distant because it is echoing in the air.. sending shallow depression on his skin..

The noises that echoed.. were of.. howling of werewolves..

Screeching of some predators.. they can’t be animals.. gguk knows how an animal sounds like..

These harsh piercing cries can only be of a human.. because the noises echoed in the wind as if someone’s throat was getting bursted out of pain..

Then he could feel mumblings in a unison.. like an orchestra.. singing a foreign language which gguk is sure no sane man would understand

And then.. there were painful echoes as if someone was dying..

Apart from it.. the trees made rogue sounds..

And then there was the whisper-like whooshing of the wind.. which felt as if the blustery wind was blowing actively and strongly in the heart of euphoria..

Why is this place so weird? (Frowns while listening the sounds)

Is it just me.. or everyone staying here can listen to these noises? (Questions more like to himself)

Gguk knows there is no answer to this.. he might as well.. be hallucinating and making these noises in his mind..

Gguk gave up and walked back to his bedroom.. slide in the bed and put on his headphones.. gguk decided to shun these noises by listening to peaceful music.. which helped finally..

The next day..

Gguk got up a little late as he barely got some sleep last night..

By the time.. he went downstairs.. it was already lunch time..

Gguk didn’t care .. how he was dressed and how he looked.. he was damn hungry..

Sora had prepared food right in time.. gguk wasted no time and started to eat.. still yawning..

After taking few bites.. and feeling the warmth of veggies and meat inside his body.. gguk started to wake up fully..

The memories of last night.. starts to unfold in his mind..

He sees Sora.. cleaning some photo frames before him.. so gguk speaks..

Have you heard of weird noises last night?

I mean.. wolves howling and I don’t know someone crying..

Gguk didn’t want to sound alert or scared.. but deep down he was really petrified from those noises.. however, he pretended to concentrate on his food and ask casually to Sora..

Hwang Sora

No sire.. I heard nothing..

Hwang Sora

It was completely silent last night.. (says gently)

*was I really hallucinating?*

Uhm.. okay..

Hwang Sora

Okay sir.. I will get back to work.. (bows)

(Nods)

After another 15 mins.. gguk again talks..

Do you think, there are wild and dangerous animals roaming in the night over here? (Says curiously)

Hwang Sora

(Chuckles) we have lots of wild and dangerous animals here

There are large bears, wild boars, lions, wild deers.. wolves and such..

Hwang Sora

The people here actually don’t leave their house in the night..

It’s scary because of these animals.. as if they roam on the streets of euphoria like its a free state..

Why don’t the mayor of this place..takes action against such dangerous animals!

I mean.. everyone should be allowed to have a night life right..

In France, me and my friend would roam around in the night... go to fairs.. eat at night stalls.. and go to clubs.. stuffs like that..

Sora got really excited over the night life in France.. that looks very free for her.. she came near jk with glistening eyes to know more about this free night..

Really.. people can eat cotton candies.. and chicken.. and ride a Ferris wheel in the night time there (almost squeals)

(Chuckles loudly) yes ofcorse

We could do many more adventures and happy stuffs over there

Oh wowww (shows heart eyes)

It must be really beautiful

We never go out in the night here.. everyone stays indoor and locks their homes

I don’t know.. I have never explored the night here..

My appa forbid me to ever step outside during the nights.. he said that .. if I want to live.. I need to respect the people of the night..

People of the night? Huh.. what does that mean? (Way too focused on knowing more now)

I have no idea.. my appa told me that I was too young to understand all of this.. and that I must at all cost never step out in the night..

So I just followed his command..

Now I have read some comments that.. whether this novel is like the original series..

I want to clarify is that no.. it isn’t.. what I meant was that I have taken inspiration from that series and few basics about vampire, hybrid and stuffs..

I mean.. you can understand from the starting of this novel.. that it isn’t like the series...

Additionally.. I want to clarify is that.. some have asked if Tae’s fate will be like Nicklaus.. so I want to clarify no it won’t:. Because I said the character is inspired by Nicklaus but not the fate.. so yeah..

So I hope you don’t compare it with series.. and I hope you find the originality of my imagination in this novel..




