Songs of Melania takes place in a fictional realm inhabited by supernatural beings who have existed for thousands of centuries. Almost 200 years before the present events, the Kingdom of Malinia's rule was divided into two regional power bases: the Lion Riders in the east and the Panther Riders in the west. Over time, the two regions came into conflict, resulting in the conquest of the west by the eastern kings, who, after their victory, reunified Melania under their rule, bringing an end to a long period of political division since the Clash of Eight Princes five centuries ago.
