Chapter 4 - My New Home
Pure, warm, fresh sunlight. Sunlight that I could bask in all day, sunlight to drown out the endless darkness of the night.
When was the last time that had I felt such warmth? When had I last slept in long enough to wake up to the sunlight?
The bakery! I jolted awake, suddenly finding that my surroundings were anything but what I had fallen asleep to.
Where was I and why did I feel like I was in the royal chambers in a castle?
That sound... I could have sworn that it was Snow's miaow.
I turned my head and gasped when a ball of white fluff jumped from beneath my bed and into my arms.
Isabella Ashton
Oh Snow...
Isabella Ashton
What are you doing here? Do you know where I am?
The young cat jumped off of the bed and onto the floor, nudging the ajar door open.
Isabella Ashton
Do you want me to follow you?
The cat then disappeared and I immediately got out of bed and followed him.
I don't know where I was but this castle was sprawled across a beautiful green land.
I'd never imagined anything like it! It was ginormous!
The gardens were veiled with roses and ivy crawled up the walls.
The grounds were surrounded by a never-ending forest which stretched so far back that I could barely see an end to it.
My awe might have slightly subdued my fear had the place not been plundged in a state of silence.
Every piece of the garden, which had been carefully tended to, seemed asleep.
I then found Snow rushing up stairs and I was quick to follow after him.
Isabella Ashton
Wait for me!
I ran up the stairs and eventually came to enter a dining room, which had two places set out.
Snow sat at the side of a chair and miaowed for me to come over.
Isabella Ashton
Do you think that this food is for me?
It seemed exquisite and expensive. Meat was a rarity back in my village.
I sat down next to the cat and picked up my knife and fork, carefully cutting into the delicious-looking omelette in front of me.
It seemed so fluffy and smooth...
I took a bite and immediately, my cheeks flushed a happy pink.
Isabella Ashton
Goodness, this is delicious! Who cooked this, Snow?
The cat twirled around and sat down smugly.
Isabella Ashton
Was it you? Well, I can't thank you enough! Do you want some?
I cut off a small bit of bacon and handed it to him. He immediately ate it and miaowed a small thank you to me.
I finished the breakfast and noticed that the food in front of me was getting cold.
Isabella Ashton
Who sits there?
Suddenly, my breath was taken away when a pair of wide hands covered my eyes suddenly.
A deep and raspy voice then filled my ears, making me want to shiver inside.
Hunter Night
Why didn't you notify me that she was down here, Peter?
Peter Snowden
Hahaha... well, I thought that you could both have breakfast together!
Who was this man behind me? And why was he covering my eyes?
And why are there suddenly two voices in the room?
Hunter Night
I'm leaving...
Isabella Ashton
N-No, I had just finished! I'm sorry for indulging myself in your food and interrupting you. I'm going to leave to get back to my village now-
Peter Snowden
Oh, you don't remember?
Peter Snowden
This is your home now.
Peter Snowden
You belong here, with me and Hunter.
