CHAPTER 4

Somewhere in Trinity State

The machine gun roared once again. The bullets dropped down the cold floor. They bravely stood at the center of the hallway not knowing they've become my prey.

"Are you sure there's only one person here?" I heard one asked. "We're doomed if this turned up to be a set up."

"Don't worry," the other assured. "Today we'll claim the head of Damian Stein and bring it to our boss as a trophy."

Imbeciles, I smirked. They think that they could kill me? Trinity State's most wanted gunman, killed by these nitwits? In their dreams maybe. I slowly hunched down and tiptoed towards a tiny hole I saw a moment ago. It's big enough for the bullet to go through, and close enough for me to finish them both.

I slowly stood up straight, the small hole is the same level as my arm. I firmly spread my left arm directed towards the hole.

Finger off the trigger. I closed my mouth and took a deep breathe, then I closed my right eye and directed the gun exactly at the forehead of the man holding the machine gun. I lifted out the other arm knowing that the impact would be strong from this distance. Both my hands braced firmly on the hunk of metal. The perimeter of the target was set. I took another long breathe and closed both of my eyes as I pulled the trigger.

I heard the gun roar like a lion breaking the ice of silence. Then I heard the body fall to the ground making a loud thud. My lips curved into a smile, imagining how surprised their faces are. Three rabbits left and prisoned in this hell hole. It's time for the lion to finish his meal.

Then I have decided. I stood up straight and walked towards outside. Outside where I have to face three preys. Outside where every mistake I would make would cost my life. Shall I dare be as dauntless as my consciousness asks?

Then it dawned upon me. The voice in my head laughed hysterically like contained madness. It ponders once more to the door of my thoughts.

'You are Damian Stein, nothing fears you. Kill them.'

As light touched me I spread both of my arms upfront, towards the foreheads of the men besides the man in the center. They were frozen, astounded from the sight of me. Their gazes scream mercy as my eyes blankly stared back upon them.

I looked side by side, locking my aims. Then I closed my eyes once more.

One.

Two.

Three.

Chaos spurted out from Hell.

I synchronically pulled both the trigger. Then in a split second, I moved my left hand a few inches slightly towards the forehead of the man in the center. With my eyes bare open, I pulled Death's string once more.

There lay before me, three bodies gone cold, all shot in the forehead.

I stooped down near their head and gently closed their eyes with my hand. They can all sleep peacefully now.

"You did a good job Sir Damian." I heard Lucius compliment me. The moment I stood up, I noticed Lucius' true ethereal being stood before me once more. He's beckoning me. The man with gentle blue eyes and glowing yellow hair is no longer at sight, instead a devilish man with silky white hair and crimson red eyes greeted me.

"What's next?" I asked him, looking down at the guns I used to murder these people. Then the guns bade goodbye, slowly drifting into red dust, swerving like the air. I looked at Lucius and he smiled at me. We were silent for a moment then he opened his mouth.

"I'll return you to where you should be Sir Damian," Lucius said. "I'll bring you home."

Home? That ill-gotten word seemed like an insult to me because the moment I heard it, I burst into laughter. Such a word being thrown to an orphan, ah yes, I hope it exists.

"What do you mean home?" I pondered back, bemused of the words that slipped out of Lucius' lips. "I have no home."

"Of course you have. They'll find you soon," Lucius replied. "They've been looking for you for 24 years Sir Von Heilzen."
