CHAPTER 3

Somewhere in Trinity State

I shot an astray bullet on the ceiling and I could hear them quivering, hauling, and approaching at the old building's entrance.

I slowly walked outside of the room and realized that I am now standing before at an old abandoned European hotel. The room I walked out from was mysteriously cleaned and arranged by Lucius. It felt like I walked out from a musical movie then rapidly entered a horror set.

Dried leaves claimed the hallways, broken ceilings, shards of glass from the broken glass walls befriended the dried leaves on the floor.

I airily kicked the leaves as if nothing's going to happen next.

It was then I heard some muffled running footsteps, the clacking of magazine inside a gun, a rifle hitting the back skin of a person. It made a welcoming announcement that the enemy was expecting me. But do they know where I am at the building?

I cautiously stopped walking. There sat a solitary wooden chair in the middle of the hallway. I pulled the chair, as if the screeching sound it made was the reply, saying, 'yes I'm here. I'll be waiting. So come here and get me will you?'

I released the chair and I made a loud thundering thud when I stopped pulling it, I heard someone hushed, and the footsteps halted. The preys entered the cave where the predator awaits. They knew what they are in for. I shall await for their death. The thought itself simply sets my mood. I shall dance with the fairies of death soon.

Then the footsteps continued to move once more. I smiled like the devil when the footsteps approached the old stair case. It echoed its way to my ears. I then slowly stood up, making no sound. I stretched my right arm, firmly directed the gun to the staircase's entrance. I slowly closed my right eye. I inhaled. The air I took in wanted to break free, but it's not the time yet. The man's head then appeared, peering out to see where I am.

I pulled the trigger and the bullet made its way through his forehead. Immediately his body fell and blood gushed out from the spot where the bullet penetrated.

I could tell the other men were petrified the moment his body dropped dead.

One down, four to go, I thought. I kept my position still and stood frozen there like a statue. No head showed up. But instead, I heard someone zipping a bag and loading a gun.

Then a tip of a rifle peeked out the wall near the staircase. I hurriedly ran to the nearest room taking cover. They showered the hallway with bullets. They had a machine gun. How am I supposed to fight with that? I only have two revolvers and 11 bullets left from the total 12 slots of bullets from both the guns.

It's a fight between David and Goliath.
