So, here is the syllabus for this year. We are going to analyse great works of romance, such as Pride And Prejudice and so forth.

While he talked, I wrote notes down.

Primrose Brooks

Why are you taking note of it?

Primrose Brooks

We're going to get a piece of paper at the end anyway.

Raine Blake

Nope. I bet that he forgot what even happens in Pride and Prejudice. He's hungover and frankly seems like the type who'd flirt his way to a degree.

Sure enough, the lecture was pretty fast. He told us to talk about Pride and Prejudice, giving no guidance at all. That was it, it was time for me to show him how seriously I took this class.

What do you think about the many love interests that are in the book? Yes, the girl at the back with the blue hair. Miss... Raine Blake!

I smiled and said:

I find that Elizabeth Bennett could have found love with someone else than Mr Darcey. The relationship between her and the guardsman was clearly something to note. After all, the secret letters that Darcy sent her could have been written by him.

Dix Rivers

Excellent! Well done, Miss Blake!

Then, Prim snorted, trying to suppress her laughter while the girls and boys around us seemed confused.

Primrose Brooks

Oh gosh, Raine. You are positively hilarious!

Raine Blake

Shush!

We giggled at the back and then, he turned a little red and ran to his computer, looking it up no doubt.

By that time, the lecture ended and everyone picked up their bags and left. Some girls stayed behind, fawning over Dix.

However, his eyes were on me, the girl who dared catch him out in a lie.

Dix Rivers

Raine... Blake. Interesting.

As Prim and I left the lecture hall, we both burst out laughing, holding our stomachs in laughter.

Raine Blake

Did you see his face?

Primrose Brooks

Oh, I did! That was hilarious!

She then smiled at me and dove her hand into her bag, taking out her phone.

Primrose Brooks

Let me get that number now, girl!

And so, we exchanged contact details and walked towards the school gates, where I turned pale.

What was Laurie doing?

I quickly took a book out of my bag and covered my face.

Primrose Brooks

What's wrong?

Raine Blake

U-Um... nothing much. Its the sun, its irritating my skin a little. I'm going to sit down for a bit, you go on ahead.

Primrose Brooks

Oh, okay! See you, Raine!

And just like that, she ran off. I sighed and took out my phone, angrily calling Laurie.

Laurie Jackson

Lady Raine?

Raine Blake

I told you not to be conspicuous!

Laurie Jackson

I changed the car from silver to black to be inconspicuous.

Raine Blake

And didn't I tell you to pick me up around the corner? My friend almost saw you!

Laurie Jackson

A friend? How marvellous! May I know her name?

Raine Blake

Not in this lifetime. Anyway, meet me at the bakery around the corner.

Laurie Jackson

Understood, Lady Raine.

I hung up and sighed as I watched the car move.

I got up and walked out of the gate, just across the street to the bakery, where he circled around and picked me up.

However, a man saw me getting into the expensive car and smiled, licking his lips.

Dix Rivers

An Heiress? I always love to taste those.
