Yuri ran up the stairs and frantically searched for me yet again.

Then, a sobbing sound reached his ears, making him turn towards the ballroom. Opening up the door, he walked in and looked around, trying to find me.

He then finally stopped at a table with a white cloth over it. The sniffles came from under there. Slowly lifting the cloth up, he then saw me crying under the table. I immediately stopped when my eyes met Yuri's.

Raine Blake

Are you... are you here to babysit me? Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere.

I said it with such spite.

Yuri Knightly

N-No, I'm not. I'm Yuri, by the way.

Yuri Knightly

What's your name?

I huffed.

Raine Blake

Didn't I tell you before? It's Raine.

Yuri Knightly

Raine? As in the sky is raining?

I frowned at him, which made him quickly try and recover.

Yuri Knightly

I-I mean, I like rain! The smell of rain against the concrete is pleasant.

He sighed. He thought that I saw him as a total weirdo now...

Raine Blake

Really? You think so too?

He was surprised by this sudden burst of cuteness.

Yuri Knightly

I... do.

I giggled for a bit before smiling at Yuri.

Raine Blake

So, what do you think of your boss?

Yuri Knightly

My boss?

Raine Blake

Yeah, you've got to be employed by him, don't you.

Yuri Knightly

*thinking* She thinks that I work for Casper? This might be my chance.

Yuri Knightly

He's very bossy and I can never do anything right in his eyes.

Raine Blake

It must be tough, having to be around him every day.

Yuri Knightly

I heard that you were put as collateral for your father's debt.

My face tightened.

Yuri Knightly

D-Don't cry! I was the same. Well... I had a crap father, that is. He got my mum pregnant and threw me and her to the curb.

Raine Blake

Well... my father gambled away all of my mother's medical funds.

Raine Blake

I guess that we both have daddy issues, then.

My smile radiated an intoxicating warmth. Yuri wanted to get to know me better.

He then put out his hand.

Yuri Knightly

Let's go have a walk in the gardens. I'll show you around.

My smile then faded.

Raine Blake

Making a cage pretty doesn't change the fact that it's a cage.

He then smiled and took my hand, pulling me out from under the table.

Yuri Knightly

Trust me, you'll love this place.

Then, noticing how he was touching my wrist, he quickly let go, blushing.

Yuri Knightly

I-I... sorry.

Yuri Knightly

Let's go, shall we?

Yuri seems so nice compared to everyone else here. And he didn't make fun of me when I told him about my father. Maybe it's because he's went through a similar experience.

He brought me into a small forest and deeper and deeper we went until we reached what looked like a tree house.

Raine Blake

Hold on, is this a tree house?

He nodded.

Yuri Knightly

I built this when I was 12. I wanted a special place to be something special.

Yuri Knightly

Want to come in?

Taking my hand, he lead me up the ladder and the moment I walked into it, my heart started to race.

This place is so cute and beautiful!

I walked around, taking a glance at the teddy bears and the books that were piled up here.

Raine Blake

This really is a secret hideout!

Yuri Knightly

H-Hey... why don't we meet up here everyday? I'll get lunch from the kitchen and we can eat it up here. I'm lonely too.

And so a promise was made between two individuals. However, Yuri knew that this perfect lie wasn't going to last.
