Chapter 2: Lust for money or me?

She immediately dropped her pencil and then remembered his name being shown everywhere but she was ignorant to all of that.

“Oh my gosh it’s him I can’t believe it!” Hiro looked at her as though she was a young child and would only smile.

Ren looked at the two of them from afar and gritted his teeth in resentment.

“Yukimura you have been called by the CEO” Himari was shocked when the editor mentioned this and then immediately felt in urge of regret and constant fear. Hiro watched her leave and he felt guilty for not going with her as she struggled with her emotions and hoped not to go. She walked in her heels and sprained her ankle in her haste but decided to walk on despite the pain being inflicted on her feet.

“You’re late” Ren folded his arms and sat down like a gentleman whilst Himari took her seat.

“I did not give you consent to sit down so get up” he spoke sternly and she immediately got up in fear and was also helpless in her situation.

“How obedient of you” he laughed at her and then noticed a rash on her right foot, she hid it with her other foot when he noticed as his eyes widened to this unpleasant sight.

“What did you want with me?” she displayed her usual attitude and he cleared his throat.

“Your work here is almost too disappointing you’re absolutely useless” he spoke to her directly without any hesitation and she nodded in his great surpisment.

“Yeah I know I can retire then fine hand me the file” he clenched his fists and then told her off.

“You are here to serve me that is exactly what you’re here for only my purpose you even live for my sake” he told her and then she raised an arm against him and his cheek reddened in pain.

“You dare-“ he looked at her viciously whilst talking and she smirked.

“I’m not your plaything or an object to use at your disposal so don’t even try” she walked away but her eyes swelled up with warm tears and he noticed them when she took her leave. He touched his cheek and was then angered by her words and wished to cause her more suffering.

“To think she would be different from those other women, may be to my liking” he smirked.

Himari was at home and was exhausted and hoped to never work there again and wanted to file a resignation letter but dozed off due to her fatigue and then received a call during her afternoon nap.

“Hello..?” she rubbed one eye and spoke as though she was drowsy.

“Did I catch you at a bad time?” she immediately returned to her senses.

“Hiro?! How did you get my number?” she asked.

“It was easy to contact you” he said warmly.

“This guy always knows stuff about me before I say things to him” she thought to herself slightly concerned.

“Tomorrow we will have a new visitor the CEO’s fiancé” Himari spat out the glass of water she drank from her bedside table.

“Huh?! Really?!” she grew curious.

“I thought he hated women”

“He does but she is his priority” Hiro replied.

“Then why does he need me?” she spoke to herself

“He is extra picky with her around so be sure to behave”

“Hah!” she hung up after letting out a laugh and then yanked her phone aside and read a comic based on a fairytale. She drew a few characters inspired by the story and then her pencil needed to be sharpened. She created a draft before inking it on another sheet and then was jaw dropped when she dropped her book to discover who the author was.

“Ren Yukimura?! Whaaaaaaaaaat?!” she was utterly shocked and felt like jumping out the window as her favourite and most prized possession was that book in her house.
