The island air was warm and sweet, filled with the faint scent of hibiscus. Lisa woke slowly, stretching beneath the linen sheets. When she opened her eyes, Jungkook was already awake, leaning against the headboard with a soft smile.

“You look like an angel when you sleep,” he teased.

Lisa groaned, hiding her face in the pillow. “Stop staring at me first thing in the morning.”

“I can’t help it,” Jungkook replied, brushing her hair away from her cheek. “I’m your husband now. Staring is my right.”

Lisa’s heart skipped at the word husband. Though their marriage had begun as an arrangement, here—on this island, away from responsibilities—it felt like something real.

Adventure in the Caves

After breakfast overlooking the turquoise ocean, they set off for a hidden cave the locals had whispered about. The trail was rocky, the air humid, but Jungkook never let go of her hand.

“Careful,” he murmured as she slipped slightly on the stones. His grip tightened protectively.

Lisa smiled at his care. “You’re treating me like I’m fragile.”

“You are,” Jungkook answered simply. “You’re precious to me.”

Her cheeks flushed.

When they reached the cave, sunlight filtered through cracks above, illuminating the water until it glowed like molten sapphire. Lisa gasped, her eyes wide.

“It’s… magical,” she whispered.

“Mm,” Jungkook agreed, though his gaze lingered on her, not the cave. “Truly magical.”

They swam together, the cool water sparkling around them. Lisa splashed him playfully, and Jungkook pulled her close in retaliation. Their lips brushed in a wet, salty kiss, laughter mingling with the sound of dripping water.

Racing Hearts

In the afternoon, they rented bicycles and pedaled along palm-lined paths. Lisa tried to race ahead, her hair flying behind her, but Jungkook easily caught up.

“You’re cheating!” she panted.

“I’m just faster,” he grinned. “Want me to let you win?”

“No,” she said stubbornly, though her laughter betrayed her.

When they stopped at the crest of a hill, the view of the ocean stretched endlessly before them. Jungkook leaned down and pressed a kiss to her forehead.

“You’re the only race I’ll never mind losing,” he whispered, making Lisa blush furiously.

Sunset Promises

That evening, they boarded a small boat to watch the sun melt into the horizon. The sky burned orange and pink, reflecting across the gentle waves. Lisa leaned into Jungkook’s side, his arm secure around her shoulders.

“I wish we could stay like this forever,” she murmured.

“We can,” Jungkook whispered, pressing a kiss to her temple. “Not here, maybe. But every day, I’ll make you feel this way. That’s my promise.”

Lisa believed him. In that moment, she believed in everything.

The Honeymoon Night

Back at their villa, Lisa carefully placed a seashell she had collected from the cave on the nightstand.

“A memory,” she said softly. “So we’ll never forget today.”

Jungkook stepped closer, brushing his lips against hers. “We won’t need it. I’ll never forget.”

The kiss deepened, slow and intoxicating, until Lisa’s knees weakened. Jungkook carried her to the bed, setting her down gently before joining her.

> “Your new secretary begins next week. Don’t be late.”

Jungkook sighed and slipped the phone into his pocket, choosing not to tell Lisa. Instead, he kissed her hand and smiled.

“Ready to go home?”

Lisa nodded, her eyes sparkling. “As long as I’m with you.”
