The sun crept through the curtains, golden light spilling into the bridal suite. Lisa stirred, her lashes fluttering before she blinked awake. Her cheeks warmed instantly when she saw Jungkook sitting on the edge of the bed, already dressed neatly, his dark hair still damp from a shower.

He smiled when he noticed her awake. “Good morning, Mrs. Jeon.”

Lisa pulled the blanket over her face, hiding her blush. “Don’t call me that yet. It feels too strange.”

Jungkook chuckled, gently tugging the blanket down. “It’s real. And from today onward, you’re mine. That’s not strange—that’s beautiful.”

Her heart fluttered. Last night had been soft and intimate, but waking up to his voice, his warmth, his smile—it felt like a dream she never wanted to end.

By afternoon, they were escorted to the grand hall where journalists, photographers, and family gathered to witness their first appearance as a married couple.

Lisa’s gown shimmered in pale gold, her hand tucked securely in Jungkook’s arm. Flashes from cameras lit up the room, but all Lisa could hear was the pounding of her heart.

“Mr. Jeon, how does it feel to be married?” a reporter called out.

The crowd erupted in murmurs, charmed by his sincerity.

Lisa’s cheeks burned at his words. She lowered her gaze shyly, but Jungkook squeezed her hand, whispering against her ear, “Don’t hide. They should see how stunning my wife is.”

Her lips parted in surprise before she smiled, the nervousness fading. Together, they faced the crowd—a picture of perfection.

Private Promises

That night, after the chaos of flashing lights and endless congratulations, they retreated back to the quiet of their suite. Lisa curled up on the sofa, kicking off her heels with a sigh.

“You looked like a goddess out there,” Jungkook said, setting a small velvet box on the table.

Lisa blinked. “What’s this?”

“Not for the media. Not for show.” He opened it to reveal a delicate silver bracelet, her initials carved into the clasp. “It’s just for you. A promise that no matter how busy life gets, I’ll always come back to you.”

Her eyes stung with tears. She slid the bracelet onto her wrist, clutching it as though it was the most precious jewel. “You already do more than enough. You don’t have to promise me anything.”

Jungkook leaned closer, brushing a kiss across her forehead. “Then consider it a vow. One I’ll keep every day of my life.”

Lisa wrapped her arms around him, whispering into his chest, “You’re everything I ever dreamed of, Jungkook.”

He smiled softly, holding her tighter. “Then let’s dream together.”

The Shadow of Tomorrow

The next morning, Jungkook sat in his office, flipping through documents when his father walked in. His expression was businesslike as always.

“You’re married now, Jungkook. You’ll need a reliable assistant to balance your schedule,” his father said, placing a file on the desk. “I’ve chosen someone young, ambitious, and trustworthy. He’ll begin next week.”

Jungkook glanced briefly at the folder. “If it means I can spend more time with Lisa, then fine. Send him in.”

When his father left, Jungkook opened the file lazily. His eyes landed on the bold name written across the first page:

Kim Taehyung.

Jungkook closed the folder with little thought, unaware that this single name would one day shatter the perfect world he and Lisa had built.
