The walk to campus was uneventful, which was already a miracle. The morning air was crisp, but his patience was razor-thin. He’d already decided: no unnecessary interactions, no entanglements. Finish classes, keep his head down, survive.

At the gates, students flowed past him in chattering waves. He could feel the stares. In the original story, they would’ve been mocking, amused at his timid presence. This time, their eyes lingered for a different reason.

There was no trace of meekness in the way he moved now. Each step was deliberate, shoulders straight, gaze cutting through the crowd like a blade.

Bullies, he noticed, lurking near the fountain. Same faces as in the novel. Same ones who would’ve pushed the old Taehyung’s head into the water and laughed.

They stepped forward.
