The walls were carved with symbols that pulsed faintly—like veins.
In the center: a pedestal.
And on it… a box, locked with silver chains.

“No one touches it until we know what it does.”

Her hand hovered above the box.
A warm glow pulsed beneath her skin—the same light from the scroll.
The chains uncoiled… on their own.

Why does this feel familiar… like I’ve done this before?
The box clicked open.
Inside: a small mirror framed in gold… cracked down the center.
Reflected in it was not Seraphina’s face—
But flames. Wings. A shadow behind her.

(staggering back):

Above ground, in a quiet corner of the palace—
Two voices whispered behind closed doors.

“Which is why we can’t let her rise.
She wears a crown in every vision—but that throne is mine.”
In the mirror’s reflection…
The shadows stirred again.
And this time—they were watching back.
