Episode 01
The early morning air was chilly, biting at Taehyung’s fingertips as he stood outside the small pregnancy center, its faded sign creaking in the breeze.
He clutched a crumpled test kit in his coat pocket, his knuckles white from gripping it too hard.
His heart pounded, a mix of hope and dread swirling in his chest.
The street was quiet, save for the occasional car humming by and the distant bark of a dog.
Taehyung’s soft brown eyes darted to the glass door, hesitating.
He hadn’t told anyone.. not his boyfriend, not his parents, and definitely not his sister, Eunji.
He took a shaky breath, the cold air stinging his lungs, and pushed the door open.
Inside, the waiting room smelled faintly of antiseptic and lavender air freshener.
The receptionist, a middle-aged woman with kind eyes, looked up from her desk.
Receptionist
Morning, dear. Do you have an appointment? (she asked, her voice warm but professional)
Taehyung swallowed, his throat dry.
Kim Taehyung
Uh, no. I just… I need to confirm something.
He pulled the test kit from his pocket, holding it up like it was evidence in a crime scene.
Kim Taehyung
I took this at home, but I… I need to be sure.
The receptionist nodded, no judgment in her gaze.
Receptionist
Alright, sweetheart. We can do a quick test. What’s your name?
Kim Taehyung
Kim Taehyung.. (he mumbled)
Glancing at the empty chairs around him. He was glad no one else was here. The fewer people who saw him, the better.
Receptionist
Take a seat, Taehyung. The nurse will call you in soon. (She smiled, pointing to a row of faded blue chairs)
Taehyung sank into one, his hands fidgeting in his lap.
The test kit sat on his knee, its bold “POSITIVE” staring up at him like a neon sign.
He’d taken it three times at home, each result the same.
He wanted this baby.. God, he did but the thought of telling his boyfriend, Minseok, made his chest tighten.
Minseok had been distant lately, always busy with work or… something else.
Taehyung pushed the doubt away.
