Tires hissed against the gravel driveway. The lead vehicle stopped—

Cold. Tall. Built like sin wrapped in an expensive coat. His hair was slicked back, no trace of softness.

The moment he stepped out, the wind bowed to him. He adjusted his cuffs, face unreadable as always, and entered the mansion wordlessly.

The butler quickly retrieved his phone, pulling up a recent picture of Taehyung—smiling softly, cheeks rosy, wearing a baby blue cardigan and a cake slice in hand

Upstairs, Taehyung slept curled in a blanket, unaware. The bed cold beside him, Haejin absent again. It was past noon when Taehyung stirred, groggy. He stretched, hair sticking up in soft, messy curls, pajamas covered in tiny bear prints.

Piercing eyes flicked up, meeting Taehyung’s wide, sleepy ones.
