It has been three days now.

Three days since Haejin returned.

And not once had he touched Taehyung.

Not in the casual brush of fingers, not in the stolen glance of a fond husband, not even in words. Only polite nods, occasional hums of acknowledgment, and closed doors.

Taehyung sat on the sun-drenched balcony that morning, legs pulled to his chest beneath a knit blanket.

His phone lay untouched beside a half-finished cup of rose tea

He’d reread their old messages—back when Haejin still traveled for work and would text him in the middle of meetings, complain about his tie, send grainy selfies and blurry pictures of his hotel view.

But Now?

Nothing

Not even when he left home for two whole weeks this time.

Taehyung stared at the last message he sent: “Be safe. I’ll be waiting 💌” Sent. Delivered. Never replied.

𝙹𝙴𝙾𝙽 𝚃𝙰𝙴𝙷𝚈𝚄𝙽𝙶

*gnawed on his bottom lip*

Was he overthinking it? Haejin said he’d been busy. That work was draining. But even then, even during the worst of quarters, he’d never completely gone silent.

He scrolled up

Two weeks of unanswered check-ins, photos of his garden, reminders to take his vitamins. All seen. None acknowledged

And now, even back home, Haejin barely looked at him

“Hubby, let's go to a date. I missed you alot ~”

*in a call* "Not now Tae, I'm busy right now. can't you see?”

“If you say so...” *trying to smile*

Something's off

He thought

“Mrs. Seo,” *Gently*

Taehyung called gently as the housekeeper passed by,

“yes, young mistress?”

𝙹𝙴𝙾𝙽 𝚃𝙰𝙴𝙷𝚈𝚄𝙽𝙶

“Do you know where haejin is? I haven't seen him since morning...”

*Bowed slightly* “Master Haejin left early, young mistress. He said he had a breakfast meeting. No return time mentioned.”

Of course he didn’t.

Taehyung offered a soft “thank you” and turned back to the balcony. The breeze was crisp, but it wasn’t enough to cool the twist in his chest.

He hated doubting. He really did.

But love… wasn’t supposed to be this quiet, was it?

He pulled the blanket tighter around himself. The wind picked up, lifting a dry leaf that danced across the marble tiles before tumbling into the garden below

Taehyung exhaled

And waited

Like he always did
