Chapter Five: When the Forest Loved the Stars

The Story of Kim Seokjin and Kim Namjoon

> “Do you remember the first time you touched my hand?”

“I was scared the leaves would burn if I held on too tightly.”

“But you didn’t let go.”

“I never wanted to.”

---

Centuries Ago – The First Bloom

The Elves and Fairies had always stood at a careful distance.

Both ancient, both proud, both bound to nature—yet so very different.

The Fairies danced with wild magic, chaotic beauty, laughter in every spell.

The Elves thrived on logic, wisdom, ancient texts, and measured silence.

When the Realms met for the First Celestial Convergence, a summit of peace between realms…

That’s where Kim Seokjin, the radiant Fairy Lord in robes of starlight and flower threads, met Kim Namjoon, the Elf Crown Scholar, quiet behind a veil of green runes and scrolls.

Seokjin had laughed—so loudly it startled a nearby phoenix.

Namjoon had looked up, annoyed at first… until their eyes met.

And then—stillness.

---

A Courting of Minds and Magic

Namjoon didn’t like loud things.

But Seokjin wasn’t just loud—he was warm. And brilliant. And sharp enough to pierce through Namjoon’s careful walls.

Seokjin: “You read books to avoid people.”

Namjoon (without looking up): “I read books to survive people.”

Seokjin (grinning): “Then survive me.”

Despite himself, Namjoon laughed.

What began as irritation… turned into letters.

What began as debates… turned into long walks beneath floating gardens.

What began as distance… became something deeper.

---

One night, under a tree that bloomed silver petals once every thousand years, Seokjin placed a crown of vines and moon-cherries on Namjoon’s head.

Seokjin: “You think too much. You live in your head.”

Namjoon (smiling softly): “You live too loud. You burn too bright.”

Seokjin: “Then we balance.”

---

A Love That Changed the Realms

When the Fairy and Elf courts learned of the bond, there was outrage.

They were too different. Too dangerous. The Fairy court feared Namjoon’s seriousness would dim Seokjin’s light. The Elves feared Seokjin’s magic would unravel Namjoon’s mind.

But the two did not falter.

Seokjin softened Namjoon’s solitude.

Namjoon grounded Seokjin’s wildness.

Their union became a symbol of hope—proof that ancient grudges could heal, that unity between realms was possible.

Even the Sun and Moon noticed.

Jimin once danced across the sky in celebration of their bond.

Yoongi blessed their union with moonstone rain that glittered for days.

Until the Light King Watched

He watched as peace bloomed in hearts he could not control.

As alliances formed without his permission.

As the Fairy and Elf lands whispered of forming a shared border, of unity without war.

So he whispered back.

Lies.

To the Elves: “Fairy magic is infecting your minds. Seokjin is changing your logic into chaos.”

To the Fairies: “The Elves seek to chain your beauty, contain your light. Namjoon is stealing your spark.”

It began with doubts.

Namjoon pulled back during councils. Seokjin flared up with irritation.

Their letters grew shorter. Their walks quieter.

---

Then the attacks came.

Elf border towns were burned — fairy fire was found on the wind.

Fairy rivers were poisoned — elven runes floated in the depths.

No proof. Only suspicion.

The Light King’s work.

---

The Fall of Trust

Namjoon sent word, begging Seokjin to come and speak—to meet him beneath the silver-blooming tree.

But Seokjin didn’t come.

He had been ordered to stay by the Fairy council—fearful of assassination, of betrayal.

Namjoon waited for two nights.

Then walked away.

Neither knew that the meeting had been intercepted.

Neither knew the Light King’s assassins had nearly killed Seokjin’s envoy.

Neither knew they were being torn apart by design.

---

Present Day – Two Thrones Apart

Now, centuries later…

Namjoon sits atop the tree-throne of Aeloria, his eyes tired, a book always nearby, never read.

Seokjin rules Lumira with a glass smile, laughter polished, eyes never truly bright.

They have not spoken in over a hundred years.

And yet—on the full moon, both still walk to the edges of their realms and look across the veil of air and starlight.

Wondering…

> “Do you still think of me?”
