The Love I Never Expected
Chapter - 2
The days after the proposal passed like a dream — slow, golden, unreal.
Daisy still checked her finger every few hours, half-convinced the ring might disappear. Jungkook would laugh each time he caught her doing it, but he understood. She wasn’t the kind of girl who ever expected fairy tales. Not after everything.
One rainy afternoon, they sat curled together on the couch in her small apartment — a blanket draped over them, warm tea in their hands, and an old movie playing on low volume in the background.
Daisy
“Do you think they’d be happy for me?” Daisy whispered, not looking at him. Her fingers toyed with the sleeve of his sweater.
Jungkook didn’t need to ask who she meant.
Jeon Jungkook
He reached out, gently tucking her hair behind her ear. “They’d be proud. Of everything. Especially how strong you are.”
Daisy
Daisy blinked quickly and nodded. “I just… wish they could meet you. You’d charm them instantly.”
Jeon Jungkook
“I’d try,” Jungkook murmured with a soft smile. “But I think your dad would still threaten me with a shovel.”
Daisy
She laughed — a watery, honest sound. “Definitely.”
In his mind, Jungkook was already imagining a life with her. A small home with wildflowers in the front. A shared bookshelf that somehow only had her books. Burnt pancakes on Sundays. Laughter. Fights. Reconciliation. A family.
And someday, maybe… a child.
But none of that needed to be said now. For now, her hand in his was enough. Her presence — quiet, real, grounding — was everything.
Outside, the rain softened to a drizzle.
Inside, the future waited, warm and patient.
Daisy
Daisy’s fingers traced idle circles on Jungkook’s arm. “So… when do you want to marry me?”
Jeon Jungkook
He chuckled. “I already want to. Now.”
Daisy
She tilted her head, teasing. “That’s not a date, Mr. CEO.”
Jeon Jungkook
“Well, I’m used to scheduling board meetings, not weddings,” he said with a smile. “But I can try.”
Daisy
“I was thinking…” she said casually, brushing her hair over one shoulder, “maybe we could get married next month?”
Jeon Jungkook
Jungkook looked up from where he was sitting beside her, his tone instantly teasing. “That’s too far.”
Daisy
She raised an eyebrow. “Oh?”
Jeon Jungkook
“Two weeks,” he said, leaning back against the couch with that smug smile of his. “I can’t wait longer than that.”
Daisy
Daisy laughed. “You sound like you’re closing a deal.”
Jeon Jungkook
“I am,” he said, reaching for her hand. “The most important one of my life.”
Daisy
She pretended to think. “Hmm. Only if your parents are there.”
Jeon Jungkook
“They will be,” Jungkook said gently. “They’re flying back from the U.S. next week. Mom’s doing better, and they’re excited to come home — especially now.”
Daisy
She smiled softly, her heart full. “Then two weeks it is.”
In a home filled with quiet elegance and soft light, they didn’t need fanfare or a crowd. Just a decision, a promise, and a love that already felt like forever.
