The Author Who Vanished🤓
Hey beautiful's. 🎀
༺֍፨✿✾ᨖᨖᨖ✾✿፨֍༻
The morning air was sharp, cold enough to sting the skin, but Taehyung barely noticed.
The burial ground was quiet—too quiet—except for the rustle of dry leaves underfoot and the faint sniffles of a few mourners scattered across the lawn.
A blanket of grey clouds hung low above, smothering the sun, refusing to let any light break through.
White lilies were placed around the coffin, their petals fresh and pale, yet unable to soften the sorrow that clung to the atmosphere.
They were beautiful, yes—but useless. No flower could hide the brutal truth.
She was gone.
Taeyeon.
His sister. His protector. His only anchor in a world.
Taehyung stood frozen, barely breathing. His arms held tightly to the tiny newborn wrapped in white, whose sobs sliced through the stillness like broken glass. Just hours old and already left behind.
֍
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
Shhh… it’s okay, baby.
Taehyung whispered, brushing a kiss onto the child’s forehead, his tears falling in silence.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
You’re not alone. I’ve got you. I always will.
Across the grave stood Min-jae. He hadn’t shed a tear. His expression was stone. Cold. Behind him stood his parents, arms folded, faces flat. They wore black, yes—but not out of love. It was formality. A show.
Even Taehyung’s own parents didn’t meet his eyes. They stood several steps away, their discomfort obvious.
Ever since that night in the hospital, the rift between them had only grown deeper, wider, unspoken but painfully loud.
The priest’s voice echoed softly in the background, offering prayers and blessings, but Taehyung wasn’t listening.
His world had narrowed to the baby in his arms, and the weight of the promise he had made.
When it came time to say their final goodbyes, people moved forward one by one, placing flowers, whispering wishes. But Min-jae didn’t move.
A cousin turned, frowning. “Aren’t you going to say goodbye to your wife?”
Min-jae shrugged. His voice came low and bitter.
֍
Choi Min-jae.
Choi Min-jae.
What’s the point? She chose death… and this cursed child.
Taehyung’s head snapped up.
But Min-jae wasn’t done. He stepped forward slightly, eyes fixed on the baby.
Choi Min-jae.
Choi Min-jae.
She threw her life away for something that shouldn’t have even been born. I told her—over and over again. She ignored me. She ruined everything.
Taehyung felt the blood rush to his face. His muscles tightened, rage rising in his throat like fire.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
Say that again, *he whispered, his voice trembling.*
Min-jae looked at him coldly.
Choi Min-jae.
Choi Min-jae.
He’s bad luck. I never wanted a kid. Not with her. She was just… easy to control. Until this thing happened.
A stunned gasp rippled through the small crowd.
Taehyung didn’t hesitate. Not for a second.
He marched forward with calm, terrifying precision—and without a word, he slammed his fist into Min-jae’s jaw.
The impact echoed like thunder.
Min-jae’s head snapped to the side, but before he could even register the pain, Taehyung struck again—another brutal blow that sent him staggering backward, nearly falling.
Min-jae clutched his face, eyes wide in shock, blood pooling between his fingers.
The crowd was silent.
No one moved. No one dared to.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
You filthy excuse for a man. 💢
Taehyung snapped.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
She gave everything for you! She loved you, even when you didn’t deserve it! And now she’s dead because she chose to bring life into this world—your child! And this is how you speak of her?
Min-jae’s mother rushed forward.
Mrs.Choi.
Mrs.Choi.
HOW DARE YOU HIT MY SON?
Taehyung turned toward her slowly, his voice dripping with venom.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
And how dare you raise a man who speaks about his dead wife like she was nothing but a burden? If you taught him what real love looked like, maybe he wouldn’t be such a soulless shell. ❄️💢
She fell silent, speechless.
Behind him, his own mother stepped forward.
Mrs.Kim.
Mrs.Kim.
Tae… please. Not here. Don’t make a scene.
He turned to her, eyes narrowed in disbelief.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
A scene?
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
My sister is six feet under, and you think this is a scene? That child in my arms is your grandson, and not one of you even looked at him. You all want to pretend he doesn’t exist? You think I’ll be quiet for that?
Silence.
No one answered. No one defended the baby. Just whispers. Just judgment.
Taehyung shook his head.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
Cowards. ❄️
He muttered under his breath.
֍
Then he looked down at the child in his arms. The crying had stopped.
The baby’s tiny fingers clung to his shirt like he already knew—Taehyung was his only safety now.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
You’re not cursed.
Taehyung whispered, lips brushing his forehead.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
You’re pure.And I’ll protect you with everything I have.
He stepped forward to the coffin, kneeling down.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
Noona… rest, okay? I’ll keep my promise. I’ll raise him right. Even if I have to stand alone in a world like this.
He laid a single white daisy on top of the coffin.
Then he stood, kissed the baby’s forehead once more, and whispered.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
Your name will be Tae-jun. Kim Tae-jun.
The name fell softly from his lips.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
You’ll carry her light and memory with you. Always.
As Taehyung turned to walk away from the grave, whispers grew louder behind him.
He ignored them.
But just as he reached the edge of the path, a voice cut sharply through the air.
֍ ֍
???
???
So this is it? You’re really going to walk away with someone else’s mess?
Taehyung stopped mid-step.
He turned slowly.
There stood Lee Ji-hoon.
His so-called fiance.
Perfectly put together, hair neatly styled, not a wrinkle on his custom black suit. But no grief on his face. Just annoyance. Inconvenience.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
Ji-hoon.
Taehyung said flatly, adjusting the baby gently in his arms.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
This really isn’t the time.
Ji-hoon ignored the warning in his voice.
Lee Ji-hoon
Lee Ji-hoon
I’ve been calling you since last night.
Ji-hoon continued, stepping closer.
Lee Ji-hoon
Lee Ji-hoon
My parents were waiting for you. We had a dinner planned, Taehyung. With real opportunities. But instead, you’re here, holding someone else’s problem and putting on a tragic show.
Taehyung raised an eyebrow.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
Oh? Sorry I missed your five-star dinner with the emotionally constipated.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
I was a bit busy burying my sister. But you’re right—let me apologize for the inconvenience my grief caused your family's social calendar.
Ji-hoon scoffed, folding his arms.
Lee Ji-hoon
Lee Ji-hoon
You’re being dramatic.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
No, l am not.
Taehyung said with a cutting smile.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
I’m being direct. But I forgot—you confuse basic human emotion with weakness because you were raised on power and money instead of love.
Ji-hoon’s expression twisted.
Lee Ji-hoon
Lee Ji-hoon
You’re emotionally unstable. And now you’re making reckless decisions based on sentiment. This child isn’t even yours.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
And yet, somehow, *Taehyung said coolly,* I’m still more of a father in one morning than you’ll ever be to anyone in your lifetime.
Ji-hoon blinked.
Lee Ji-hoon
Lee Ji-hoon
You seriously think this is noble? Playing house with an orphan?
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
No. I think this is called having a soul. You wouldn’t recognize it—it doesn’t come with a designer label.
Ji-hoon’s jaw clenched.
Lee Ji-hoon
Lee Ji-hoon
My parents will never accept this. And neither will I.
Taehyung tilted his head, smirking, voice dipped in mock sweetness.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
Then go to hell—with your parents. Trust me—you’ll love it there. It’s full of people who fake affection for inheritance.
Lee Ji-hoon
Lee Ji-hoon
Taehyung.💢
Ji-hoon shouted, fury breaking through his polished façade.
He inhaled sharply, composing himself just enough to speak with cold precision.
Lee Ji-hoon
Lee Ji-hoon
You’re being irrational. You’re letting grief turn you into something pathetic. This… this isn’t you.
Taehyung let out a soft, bitter laugh.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
No, Ji-hoon. This is me. The version that finally sees through your polished mask and realizes there's nothing underneath but ego and emptiness.
Ji-hoon stepped closer, voice dropping.
Lee Ji-hoon
Lee Ji-hoon
You’re throwing away everything—for a child that has nothing to offer you.
Taehyung’s smile dropped, gaze turning razor-sharp.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
He has more to offer than you ever did. At least he won’t grow up mistaking cruelty for strength.
Ji-hoon’s face twisted, the last thread of control snapping.
֍
Lee Ji-hoon
Lee Ji-hoon
Enough. I’ll say it straight—choose. Me or that child. Right here. Right now.
The cemetery fell into a heavy silence.
Even the wind paused, as if nature itself waited to hear the answer.
Taehyung looked at him—really looked at him—as if seeing the man for the first time.
His grip on Tae-jun remained steady, protective, unshaken.
Then, with a calm that stung sharper than any scream, he said:
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
I choose love.
There was a pause.
Ji-hoon’s shoulders relaxed slightly. A hopeful smile twitched at the corner of his lips, a flicker of victory flashing in his eyes—
Until Taehyung’s voice cut through it like glass.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
So, I choose Tae-jun.
And just like that, the smile on Ji-hoon’s face shattered
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
I choose the baby who didn’t ask to be born into loss. The one whose mother died protecting him. The one you call a burden, but I call family.
He pulled the engagement ring off his finger without looking at it.
Then flicked it at Ji-hoon like it was trash.
It hit his chest with a metallic clink before falling into the mud where it belonged.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
You were never the choice, Ji-hoon. You were the mistake I refuse to make twice.
Lee Ji-hoon
Lee Ji-hoon
..........
Ji-hoon stood frozen. Pale. Hollow.
And Taehyung? He turned his back—entirely, finally, without mercy.
Kim Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung.
Tell your parents the merger’s off. And while you’re at it, let them know— love doesn’t come with a stock number. And I don’t do deals with cowards in designer suits.
He walked away with Tae-jun nestled against his chest.
Strong.
Unshaken.
Free.
Not once did he glance back.
From that moment on, it was Taehyung and Tae-jun— just the two of them, against the world.
They didn’t know it yet.
But thousands of miles away, beneath a sky touched by fading light, another man sat by his window— unaware that his future had just begun to shift.
Unaware that somewhere in Korea, a boy with storms in his eyes and a baby named after a promise had just chosen love over fear.
And as the stars shifted above, fate quietly turned the page.
Ready to write a new beginning.
