Chapter 2
The Author Who Vanished🤓
Hey cuties
Taehyung stood still, unmoving. His sister’s child — tiny, fragile, and warm — rested against his chest.
His sister lay cold beside them.
Her final smile still lingered, soft and bittersweet, as if she was dreaming of a life she would never get to see.
Taehyung’s tears had dried long ago.
Now, all that remained was fire.
A deep, venomous fury coiled beneath his calm exterior. His grief had evolved — no longer helpless sorrow, but something far more dangerous.
He turned and walked out of the room slowly. His footsteps echoed down the sterile hallway. He didn’t look back — not at the machines, not at the body of the sister he loved more than life itself.
Outside the room, a cluster of waiting family members turned as they heard the baby cry again — louder this time, like his soul recognized something had shattered.
But when they saw Taehyung…
They didn’t rush toward him with questions or comfort.
Because what they saw in his eyes wasn’t just grief.
Mrs.Kim.
What… what happened?
His mother asked softly. Her voice trembled — not with sadness, but unease.
He replied, voice hoarse, almost unrecognizable.
Kim Taehyung.
She gave everything she had… just to bring this little angle into the world.
A silence heavier than death fell over the hallway.
His father exhaled harshly, rubbing his forehead like he’d forgotten something on a grocery list.
Mr.Kim.
Then we should contact the funeral service—
Kim Taehyung.
I’ll do it. ❄
Taehyung interrupted, eyes still fixed ahead.
Kim Taehyung.
You don’t need to lift a damn finger. None of you do.❄
His mother began, reaching out.
Kim Taehyung.
You let her die feeling unloved. ❄
Taehyung said coldly, looking her dead in the eyes.
Kim Taehyung.
She died wondering if anyone would bother to come inside and see her face one last time.
His brother-in-law, Min-jae, stood behind them, his jaw clenched, arms crossed tightly across his chest like a shield.
Kim Taehyung.
She asked for you, you know.
Taehyung said, turning his head toward Min-jae.
Kim Taehyung.
She asked if you held him.
Kim Taehyung.
She laughed when I told her you hadn’t. Not because it was funny. Because that’s how little she expected from you. ❄
Min-jae’s mother bristled, stepping forward.
Mrs.Choi.
Watch your tone, Taehyung. We just lost our daughter-in-law.
A slow, menacing smile curved his lips.
Kim Taehyung.
Oh, now she’s your daughter-in-law? That’s rich. Where was that title when she sat at your dinner table, treated like she didn’t even exist? When you questioned her worth every time she breathed too loudly or spoke too softly? ❄💢
Kim Taehyung.
You treated her like a servant. She was never part of this family — just an inconvenience carrying your so-called precious lineage. ❄
Mrs.Choi.
She wasn’t perfect, *she snapped.*
Kim Taehyung.
She was perfect.
Kim Taehyung.
She was enough.
Taehyung growled, his voice low and venomous.
Kim Taehyung.
More than any of you ever deserved. And now that she’s gone, you want to rewrite your cruelty into concern?
He took a step closer, eyes glowing with restrained rage.
Kim Taehyung.
You broke her. Piece by piece, day by day. And now you call her child bad luck? No—you were the curse she had to endure till her last breath. ❄
Mr.Kim.
You think you’re the only one grieving? *his father said, frustration creeping in.* We were there too—
Taehyung said calmly, eyes blazing.
Kim Taehyung.
You were here physically. But emotionally? You abandoned her long before today. You were all too busy whispering about burdens and bad luck to even ask how she was doing.
His mother wrung her hands.
Mrs.Kim.
We didn’t know what to do—
Kim Taehyung.
Loving her would’ve been a good start.
Kim Taehyung.
But that was always too hard for you, wasn’t it? Because love takes effort. And she spent her whole damn life trying to earn yours. ❄
The baby cried again, louder. It was a raw, broken sound — as if even he knew what had been lost.
Taehyung turned toward him slowly.
Kim Taehyung.
Still can’t look at him?
Choi Min-jae.
He took her from me, and now you expect me to love the reason she’s dead?
For a moment, everything stopped.
Taehyung’s entire body went still — except for the arms that tightened protectively around the child.
Kim Taehyung.
She gave her life, *he said, voice sharp, low, dangerous.* And you — pathetic, gutless coward — you stand here blaming a newborn who never asked to be born.
Min-jae’s mother scoffed.
Mrs.Choi.
Enough of this drama, The hospital can take the baby. He’s not our concern anymore.
The fury in Taehyung’s chest ignited like wildfire.
He laughed — a dark, humorless sound.
Kim Taehyung.
You people are unbelievable. She gave you everything, and now you turn away from the only part of her left?
Choi Min-jae.
We’re realists, *Min-jae snapped.*
She’s dead. It's over.
Taehyung said, eyes glinting dangerously.
Kim Taehyung.
You’re over. You don’t deserve to say her name again. And this baby — her baby — will grow up knowing love. I’ll make damn sure he never hears your names except as a warning. ❄💢
His parents stared, stunned into silence. The Taehyung standing before them wasn’t the polite, reserved man they thought they knew.
Mr.Kim.
Taehyung, stop, *his father said cautiously.* Let’s calm down. We can talk about this like adults—no need to make a scene.
Taehyung turned slowly, eyes like sharpened glass.
Kim Taehyung.
Oh, I’m sorry, Father, did I embarrass you by showing emotions in a hospital? Was I supposed to stand here with a fake sad face and talk about how ‘God has a plan’? Should I thank you all for your ‘thoughts and prayers’ while you pass around funeral brochures like coupons?
He stepped between them like a blade.
Kim Taehyung.
A scene, you said? ❄
Kim Taehyung.
A scene was when she cried herself to sleep every night, wondering what she did wrong. A scene was when she begged not to marry him — and you forced her anyway, using guilt and emotional blackmail like a weapon.
Kim Taehyung.
A scene was when this coward's mother spat insults at her, called her worthless in her own home — and she looked at you for help, for one word of defense. But you turned away. You said nothing. You did nothing.
His voice cracked, but he didn’t stop.
Kim Taehyung.
A scene was when she asked me if she was enough — for you, for him, for this cursed family — and I couldn’t lie to her anymore.
Taehyung whispered, cradling the baby closer.
Kim Taehyung.
This is not a scene. This is the truth you all chose to ignore. And now it’s bleeding out in front of you.
Kim Taehyung.
You don’t get to touch him. Not even once. You gave up that right the moment you gave up on her.
A young nurse walked up, her presence careful, respectful.
Nurse.
Um… sir… we’ve arranged a private room as requested.
Taehyung nodded, gently rocking the child.
Nurse.
Just to confirm… absolutely no family members are allowed inside?
Taehyung’s gaze turned ice-cold.
Kim Taehyung.
None. Not a single one.The only people allowed in that room are me, my nephew… and his mother.
Kim Taehyung.
She brought life into this world while losing hers. She deserves peace. Not to be surrounded by the same people who broke her. And her son deserves a few quiet hours with the only person in this hospital who wanted him.
The nurse’s eyes softened.
Nurse.
We’ll ensure full privacy.
Taehyung offered a small, grateful nod — the first hint of gentleness he’d shown anyone in hours.
Taehyung turned, ready to walk away — and paused.
He looked at Min-jae one last time.
Kim Taehyung.
You don’t deserve him, and you never deserved her.
Kim Taehyung.
You’ll regret this. Not today. But one day… you’ll realize you walked away from the only part of her that was left. And by then, he’ll be calling me father.
Min-jae looked shaken, but said nothing.
As Taehyung walked away, the baby’s cries faded into soft hiccups. The child snuggled against him, tiny fingers clutching his shirt.
Not one person called after him.
Not one apology was offered.
And Taehyung didn’t care.
The only thing that mattered now… was the baby in his arms.
And he would protect it — even if it meant burning every bridge behind him.

Eonnie, I’ve never felt this level of satisfaction in my life 🕊️✨—Taehyung didn’t just treat them, he demolished them with pure elegance 👑💫. Every glare , every word dripped with the justice they’ve been running from . They got exactly what they deserved, and I was living for every second 🥂🌹!"
