Episode 3

continuing
An hour had passed. Rain still tapped gently on the windows like a lullaby meant for no one.
The girl behind the counter had said her goodbyes and left with a smile. Now, only two remained inside the warm glow of the little café.
Wei Zeyan. And him.The boy still hadn’t looked at him.
Zeyan waited, pretending to check his phone, sip his now-cold coffee, glance out the window. But what he was really doing—was waiting.
Waiting for the boy to finally speak. To acknowledge him. To say, “We’re closing, sir.” But he didn’t. Not a word. Not a glance.
He simply moved—cleaning the counter with soft, efficient motions. So quiet. So unbothered. Like Zeyan was nothing but background furniture.
Then—he lifted his hand and slowly removed his cap. And Zeyan… forgot how to breathe.
His mouth parted slightly, stunned. It hit him like lightning striking water—this boy was beautiful.
His mouth parted slightly, stunned. It hit him like lightning striking water—this boy was beautiful.
Not in the usual, polished way. Not like models or screens. He was the kind of beautiful that snuck up on you… like a secret.
His skin was pale and smooth, almost glowing under the dim lights. Delicate jawline, but not weak. A quiet strength rested there. His lashes were long, casting soft shadows beneath his eyes—eyes that still hadn’t looked at Zeyan. His lips—plump, natural, a gentle pink like untouched rose petals. His nose, perfectly shaped, almost poetic. Hair a little brownish, soft, a little messy from the cap—but it suited him. There was something untouched about him, like a boy from a dream who’d never stepped into the chaos of the world.
Zeyan was frozen. The boy moved with calm grace, wiping down each table without ever lifting his gaze. Then, as if Zeyan wasn’t there, he returned behind the counter, opened his book again, and resumed reading
Unbothered. Unaffected. Unreachable.
Zeyan couldn’t take his eyes off him. He looked at the wall clock. Nearly 10:30.
The boy finally stood, closed the book, and picked up the café keys. Still—no words. No glance. No irritation. Just silence.
Zeyan, unsure why he even felt so awkward, stood up slowly and gave a soft cough—an attempt, maybe, to draw attention. The boy didn’t react.

Still facing the counter, eyes on his book, he simply lifted one hand— And pointed toward the door.
No words.Zeyan understood.
He nodded to no one and walked out slowly, rain still falling, city still buzzing around him.
The door clicked shut behind him.
Lights inside the café turned off one by one. Then the boy stepped out, locked the door, slipped the keys in his pocket— And walked away.
Without looking back. Without once meeting Zeyan’s eyes. And yet… That silence followed Zeyan all the way home.
