The Way You Tease Me (Yoonmin)

The Way You Tease Me (Yoonmin)

Episode 1: "Sugarcube Snipes and Sleepy Grandpa"

Min Yoongi had three goals for his first day of college.

Get to class on time.

Avoid people.

Stay invisible.

He didn’t want to make friends. He didn’t want to talk to strangers. He just wanted to go to class, do his work, and go back to his small dorm room to rest. That’s it.

But life had other plans.

As Yoongi walked across the huge campus of Seoul Arts University, wearing his usual black hoodie and baggy jeans, he felt already tired. His headphones were in. His music was loud. He kept his head down, hoping no one would stop him.

Then, someone did.

SLAP!

Yoongi’s notebook flew out of his hands.

“What the—?”

He looked up and saw a boy with bleached blonde hair and a huge, mischievous grin standing in front of him. The boy was shorter than average, but he stood like a prince who owned the place.

“Oops,” the boy said with a fake gasp. “Did I do that? Sorry, sleepy grandpa.”

Yoongi’s eyebrows twitched. “What did you just call me?”

The boy crouched and picked up the notebook, flipping it open. “You heard me. Sleepy grandpa. You look like you’re already done with college and ready to retire.”

Yoongi snatched the notebook from his hands. “Do you usually assault people for fun?”

“I don’t assault them. I tease them. Especially when they walk around like sad zombies on their first day,” the boy replied. “Name’s Jimin. Park Jimin. What about you, grandpa?”

Yoongi tightened his jaw. “Min Yoongi.”

Jimin’s eyes lit up. “Oh, so you’re Min Yoongi. Heard about you from Namjoon-hyung. He said you’re a genius in composing but act like the world owes you a nap.”

Yoongi put his notebook back in his bag. “I’m not in the mood for this.”

“Good,” Jimin said, skipping beside him as Yoongi began to walk again. “I love bad moods. They make teasing more fun.”

“Go tease someone else.”

“Nah, you're my new project.”

Yoongi sighed loudly.

Great. Not even five minutes into his first day, and he already had a walking headache following him.

“Do you even have a class in this building?” Yoongi asked.

“Nope,” Jimin said proudly. “I’m in dance. I live across campus. But lucky for you, my best friend Taehyung has class in this building, so I decided to come with him. And now, I found you.”

Yoongi turned to him, dead serious. “You’re stalking me.”

“Please,” Jimin scoffed. “If I were stalking you, you’d never know. This is just friendly bullying.”

Yoongi stopped walking. “Friendly what?”

Before Jimin could reply, another boy ran up behind them.

“Jimin-ah! Don’t bully random people again!” said Kim Taehyung, panting slightly. “Hyung, I’m sorry if he bothered you.”

Jimin smirked. “He’s not bothered. He’s charmed.”

Taehyung bowed dramatically to Yoongi. “He has too much energy. I keep trying to trade him for a cactus.”

“Cacti are quiet,” Yoongi muttered. “I’d take one over him too.”

Jimin gasped. “Oh? You can be funny!”

Yoongi tried not to smile. He didn’t succeed.

A few minutes later, they reached the entrance of the music building. Yoongi spotted a few familiar faces from orientation day. One of them was Kim Namjoon, standing with Jung Hoseok and Kim Seokjin.

Namjoon raised a brow when he saw the group approaching.

“Jimin… what did you do?” he asked.

“Nothing serious,” Yoongi said before Jimin could speak. “Just flipped my notebook and insulted my face.”

“It’s not an insult,” Jimin argued. “You have a very restful face.”

“Restful?” Hoseok laughed. “That’s a new one.”

Seokjin offered Yoongi a juice box. “Drink this. It’s the only way to survive Park Jimin.”

Yoongi took it slowly. “Thanks.”

“You’re welcome. I’m Seokjin, by the way. Visuals of the group,” he said with a wink.

Hoseok waved. “I’m Hoseok! Hope Jimin didn’t scare you too much.”

Namjoon shook Yoongi’s hand. “Good to finally meet you properly. We’re all in the same department. Except for Jimin, who’s just... everywhere.”

Jimin made a heart with his fingers. “Because I care.”

“Because you’re bored,” Yoongi shot back.

Jimin put a hand on his chest, fake-hurt. “Wow. You wound me.”

“Can I actually wound you?” Yoongi asked.

Everyone laughed, even Jimin.

As the first bell rang, students began moving toward their classrooms. Namjoon and the others waved goodbye.

“See you after class, Yoongi!” Hoseok called.

Yoongi turned to go to his room, but Jimin kept walking beside him.

“Don’t you have a dance class to ruin?” Yoongi asked.

“It’s later,” Jimin shrugged. “So I thought I’d walk with you.”

Yoongi groaned. “Why?”

“Because I like you.”

Yoongi stopped walking again. “You what?”

Jimin laughed. “Not like that. I mean I like messing with you. You’re fun. Most people either laugh too easily or cry too fast. But you? You fight back. I like that.”

Yoongi rolled his eyes. “You need new hobbies.”

“You might be my new favorite hobby.”

“Kill me.”

“Maybe later. Right now I want to see where you sit in class so I can steal your pens.”

Yoongi ignored him and walked into the room. It was a big classroom with piano keyboards, desks, and shelves full of music sheets. The scent of old wood and fresh paper filled the room.

Yoongi picked a seat in the back row, near the window.

And to his horror, Jimin followed him and sat right beside him.

Yoongi turned to him slowly. “Why?”

Jimin leaned on his elbow. “Why not?”

Yoongi looked away. “I can’t believe this is my life.”

“I can,” Jimin said proudly. “It’s going to be fun.”

The professor walked in, tall and serious-looking, and started the class with a short speech. As he talked about the course syllabus, Yoongi tried to focus. He really did.

But every few minutes, he could feel Jimin watching him. Smiling. Poking his arm. Whispering dumb jokes.

At one point, Jimin passed him a sticky note. It said:

“You look like a cat that regrets being born.”

Yoongi bit his tongue to stop from laughing. He grabbed a pen and wrote back:

“You look like a raccoon that drank Red Bull.”

Jimin almost choked trying not to laugh. A few students looked at them. Yoongi tried to act innocent.

When the class finally ended, Jimin stretched and yawned.

“Well, that was fun,” he said.

“You didn’t even take notes,” Yoongi pointed out.

“I took mental notes,” Jimin said, tapping his head.

Yoongi stood up to leave, but Jimin pulled lightly on his sleeve.

“Hey. Want to grab lunch?”

Yoongi stared at him. “Are you serious?”

“Yeah. I’m buying.”

“Why?”

“Because you’re cute when you’re annoyed. And I annoyed you a lot today.”

Yoongi blinked. “That’s… not a normal reason.”

“Neither am I.”

Yoongi opened his mouth to say something snarky, but paused.

For the first time since arriving on campus, he wasn’t thinking about how tired he was, or how hard things might get.

He was thinking about Park Jimin, the loud, ridiculous dancer who wouldn’t leave him alone. The boy who teased him nonstop. The one who—somehow—made him smile.

Yoongi let out a long sigh.

“Fine. But I’m choosing the place.”

Jimin beamed. “Deal.”

As they walked out of the classroom, side by side, Yoongi realized one thing:

He didn’t get the peaceful college life he wanted…

But maybe he got the interesting one he needed.
