A bitter rain soaked the capital. The Queen’s healer visited again.
Taehyung paced his chamber, hands clenched.
Mira returned with a bowed head.

Taehyung closed his eyes. For a moment, the coldness that made him King returned to his expression.

Summon the council. It’s time.
Jisoo sat on the throne beside her husband, head held high but hands trembling in her lap.
Her womb had failed her, and now—her heart warned her—so would her crown.
Taehyung didn't look at her once.
