Reborn In My Favourite Comic (TaeKook)
Chapter 5: Shadows of the Past
Jimin stretched out on the couch, tossing a decorative pillow into the air before catching it.

"So, let’s test your memory. What’s my favorite food?"
Taehyung smirked, trying to play along.
Kim taehyung
"Easy. kimchi jjigae"
Jimin gasped dramatically.
park jimin
"Oh, so you do remember some things! That means I don’t have to go easy on you. What about my biggest fear?"
Taehyung hesitated, his mind scrambling. Victor—the person he had been before all this—had never been close to Jimin. He only knew of him through the comic, where Jimin was described as Taehyung’s childhood best friend and a globally famous idol. But personal details? Those weren’t written in ink.
Jimin’s eyes narrowed.
park jimin
"You don’t know, do you?"
Taehyung sighed, deciding to be honest.
Kim taehyung
"I told you, some things feel distant."
Jimin’s playful expression faded slightly, and for a moment, silence settled between them. Then, with a small smile, he leaned back.
park jimin
"You used to tease me about it all the time. I’m terrified of deep water. Almost drowned when we were kids, remember?"
Taehyung nodded, filing away the information.
Jimin studied him for a moment before sitting up straight.
park jimin
"You’re really different, Tae. It’s like… you’re here, but you’re not."
Taehyung’s stomach twisted. He had been careful, but Jimin was sharp—sharper than most people gave him credit for.
Kim taehyung
"I guess coming back from unconsciousness does that to a person,"
Taehyung said lightly, avoiding Jimin’s gaze.
Kim taehyung
"Besides, maybe this is a chance to make new memories."
Jimin exhaled, accepting the answer—for now.
park jimin
"Then let’s start fresh."
He stood up and stretched.
park jimin
"You’ve been cooped up in this penthouse for days. How about we go out? Have some fun?"
Jimin’s grin was mischievous.
park jimin
"There’s a club opening tonight. VIP access, of course. The Park name has its perks. Besides, you need to reintroduce yourself to society. People are talking about you disappearing."
A public appearance? It was risky. He was still adjusting, still gathering information about this world. But Jimin had a point—he couldn’t stay hidden forever.
Before he could answer, the door to his penthouse swung open again. Seokjin stepped inside, his sharp gaze landing on the two of them.
Kim seokjin
"What’s this about going out?"
Jimin turned to him with an easy smile.
park jimin
"I’m taking Taehyung out for some fun. He’s been locked up here for too long."
Kim seokjin
"You collapsed just days ago. Namjoon would never allow this."
park jimin
"Uncle Jin, with all due respect, he’s not a prisoner."
Taehyung watched the interaction, noting how Jimin casually called Seokjin "uncle," a sign of their long-standing relationship. It was another piece of the puzzle.
Seokjin sighed.
Kim seokjin
"I don’t like it."
Taehyung made his decision.
Kim taehyung
"I’ll be careful. I need to get used to my life again, right?"
Seokjin studied him before nodding reluctantly.
Kim seokjin
"Fine. But take security with you."
park jimin
"Deal. Now go get dressed. We’re making a comeback tonight."
As Taehyung moved to his room, he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. The reflection was still unfamiliar, but tonight was a step toward blending in. He chose an all-black designer ensemble—slim-fit black trousers, a silk black button-up left slightly undone, and a tailored black blazer. A silver chain rested just above the collar of his shirt, subtle yet striking.
Jimin, on the other hand, had already changed into his outfit by the time Taehyung returned. He wore an oversized white satin shirt tucked into black leather pants, his platinum-blond hair styled messily, giving him an effortlessly charming yet rebellious look. Silver rings adorned his fingers, and a single drop earring shimmered under the dim lighting.
Jimin grinned at him. "Now we look like we own the place. Ready?"
Yet, as they left the penthouse, something in Taehyung’s gut told him that this night wouldn’t just be about fun.
Because in a world filled with power plays and hidden agendas, stepping into the public eye meant one thing:
The real game was about to begin
