Reborn In My Favourite Comic (TaeKook)
Chapter 4: A Familiar Face
The quiet hum of the city filled the air as Taehyung leaned against the balcony railing of his penthouse, taking in the breathtaking skyline. It had been a few days since he woke up in this world, and though he was slowly adapting, the emptiness of lost memories left an unsettling void within him.
He had spent the past few days trying to piece together Taehyung’s life—his acting career, his relationships, and most importantly, his connection to Kim Namjoon, the man the world called a villain but who, in private, seemed more like a father struggling to protect his only son.
A sharp knock at the door snapped him from his thoughts.
Before he could answer, the door burst open, and a whirlwind of energy stormed in.

“Yah! Kim Taehyung!”
A figure rushed toward him, arms wrapping around him in a tight embrace. Taehyung’s body tensed instinctively, but before he could react, the familiar scent of expensive cologne and something sweet—maybe vanilla—filled his senses.
Park Jimin.
His childhood best friend. An idol. A member of one of the most powerful families in the business world.
Jimin pulled away, his eyes scanning Taehyung’s face with an intensity that caught him off guard.
park jimin
“You scared me to death, you idiot! I was in the middle of rehearsals when I heard you collapsed on set! What the hell happened?”
Taehyung hesitated, searching for the right words.
Kim taehyung
“I… don’t remember much.”
park jimin
“What do you mean?”
Kim taehyung
“I mean exactly that,”
Taehyung sighed, rubbing the back of his neck.
Kim taehyung
“My memory is… foggy. There are bits and pieces I recognize, but a lot of things feel distant.”
Jimin’s eyes softened, his earlier frustration melting into concern.
park jimin
“Is it because of the exhaustion? Did the doctors check everything?”
Taehyung nodded, keeping his expression neutral.
Kim taehyung
“They said I’ll regain my memories gradually.”
Jimin exhaled, relief flickering in his gaze.
park jimin
“Good. Because I swear, if you had some weird illness and didn’t tell me, I’d beat you up myself.”
Taehyung chuckled despite himself. There was something refreshing about Jimin’s presence—an easy familiarity that made blending into this world just a little easier.
Jimin flopped onto the couch, eyeing him with curiosity.
park jimin
“You really don’t remember anything?”
Kim taehyung
“Not everything. Just… pieces.”
park jimin
“Well, then, lucky for you, I’m here. As your best friend, I am morally obligated to remind you of all your embarrassing moments.”
Kim taehyung
“Why do I feel like this is a trap?”
Jimin leaned in dramatically.
park jimin
“Because it is.”
A genuine laugh escaped Taehyung’s lips, the first real one since waking up in this world. Jimin’s presence was grounding, a tether to something real in the midst of his confusion.
But as they continued to talk, Taehyung couldn’t shake the nagging feeling that this wasn’t just coincidence. If fate had thrown him into this world, there had to be a reason. And perhaps, Jimin—his best friend—was a part of that reason.
Because in a world full of secrets, power, and hidden motives, one thing was certain.
He wasn’t alone in this.
And that was the most dangerous thing of all.
