Evelyn sat on her bed, arms crossed, her mind a complete mess. The conversation with her parents kept replaying in her head. How could they expect her to marry a stranger?

Evie, can I come in

Evelyn Carter (FL older sis)

Cool, I’m coming in anyway.(She swings the door open and hops onto the bed)

Chill, sis. I just came to talk. And maybe, just maybe, change your entire perspective on this marriage thing.

Not happening.

Okay, but hear me out. Jace Bennett. THE Jace Bennett. Billionaire. Owns half the fashion industry. Dresses like he walked straight out of a Vogue cover. And did I mention? Drop-dead gorgeous.

Evelyn Carter (FL older sis)

So? That doesn’t mean I should marry him.

Okay, fine. But think logically. He’s not some creepy old man. He’s young, rich, successful. You’d have a life most girls dream of. And let’s be honest, it’s not like you’re in love with someone else, right?

Evelyn sighed, staring at the floor. Everything Lily said made sense. This wasn’t some tragic love story—this was survival. Maybe this was the only way forward.

Lily gave her a quick hug and skipped out of the room, leaving Evelyn alone with her thoughts. The moment the door clicked shut, she let out a shaky breath. Was this really the right choice?
