Episode 1
Bennett Corporation – CEO’s Office
The city skyline stretched behind David Bennett as he leaned back in his leather chair, the dim lighting of his office casting sharp shadows on the glass walls. The air smelled of expensive whiskey and power—two things he had plenty of. Across from him sat Michael Carter, hands clasped together, his face calm, but his eyes betraying the weight of the conversation they were about to have.
David Bennett (ML dad)
[Swirling the whiskey in his glass] Let’s not waste time, Michael. We both know why you’re here.
Michael Carter (FL dad)
[Sighs, nodding] The merger.
David Bennett (ML dad)
[Smirks] Exactly. Carter Enterprises has been struggling, and this deal will ensure its survival. But I need more than just a signed contract. I need assurance.
Michael Carter (FL dad)
[Furrows his brows] Assurance?
David Bennett (ML dad)
[Leaning forward, voice firm] A marriage. My son, Jace, and your daughter, Evelyn. A union that secures not just our businesses, but our legacies.
Michael’s fingers tightened slightly against the armrest of his chair. He had expected something like this, but hearing it out loud made the weight of it settle heavier on his shoulders.
Michael Carter (FL dad)
[Exhales, rubbing his temple] Evelyn… She’s not the type to agree to something like this.
David Bennett (ML dad)
[Chuckles, shaking his head] Then make her understand. You and I both know business isn’t about personal feelings. It’s about survival. And right now, Carter Enterprises is hanging by a thread. This merger would not only strengthen both companies but also secure her future. You wouldn’t want her struggling, would you?
Michael remained silent, staring at the polished floor beneath him. David’s words were calculated, hitting precisely where they needed to.
Michael Carter (FL dad)
[After a long pause, sighing] I’ll talk to her.
David smirked, raising his glass in silent victory.
David Bennett (ML dad)
Good. Let’s hope she understands her duty over emotions.
As Michael Carter walks out of the office, his mind is already racing with the conversation he has to have with his daughter. Little does he know, this decision is going to set off a chain of events none of them could have predicted...
