Namjoon’s plan settled over the room like a lifeline—fragile but possible. If they could rewrite the song, they could change its power before it completed itself.
But how do you outwrite something that isn’t human?
Jungkook still felt it lingering in his bones, a melody waiting to be sung, pulling at his thoughts like invisible threads. The others must have felt it too. It wasn’t just a song anymore. It was an entity, and it wanted to exist.
Jin exhaled, rolling his shoulders. “Alright. Let’s say we do this. How do we change a song we don’t fully know?”
Hana pressed her lips together, deep in thought. “The original melody is locked in your minds now. It’s why Jungkook started singing. It’s inside you.” She turned to Yoongi. “Can you reshape it?”
Yoongi’s eyes narrowed, considering. “Music is fluid. If we understand the structure, we can rewrite it—force it into something new. But we need the missing piece first.”
Jimin frowned. “The part that was erased?”
Yoongi nodded. “Without it, we’re just patching holes.”
Jungkook’s grip on his phone tightened. “Then we need to find it before the song finishes itself.”
A hush fell over the group.
Namjoon ran a hand through his hair. “There’s one place left where the full version might exist.” He looked at Hana. “The real Archive.”
Her breath caught.
Jin swore under his breath. “You mean the part of the Archive we didn’t enter?”
Hana hesitated. “The Inner Vaults are… different.”
Taehyung folded his arms. “Define different.”
“They hold music that wasn’t just erased but sealed. If we go in, we’re stepping into something even more dangerous than before.” Her voice was tight. “We might not come out.”
Jungkook’s pulse quickened.
This wasn’t just about retrieving a song anymore. It was about diving into something they weren’t supposed to touch.
Namjoon squared his shoulders. “If that’s what it takes, we’re going.”
No hesitation. No fear in his voice.
Yoongi smirked faintly. “Guess I should bring a notepad.”
Hana sighed. “You’ll need more than that.” She pulled a thin, silver pendant from her pocket and handed it to Namjoon. “This will guide us to the Inner Vaults. But once we’re inside, time won’t move the same way.”
Jungkook felt a shiver run down his spine. “Meaning?”
“If we take too long, we might come back to a world where the song is already complete.”
The weight of her words settled in. There was no room for mistakes.
Jimin inhaled sharply. “Then we move fast.”
Namjoon held the pendant tightly. “Everyone, get ready.”
The lights flickered again, and Jungkook could hear the song in the walls, growing louder, growing hungrier.
Time was running out.
And they were about to step into the one place where no song should ever be found.
