*eyes widened* oh, Ava! You didn't have to-
Daniel (Ava's Boyfriend)
*awkwardly* Yeah, that's.... Really sweet of you.

*laughing* Of course, I had to. You're my best friend, Emily and Daniel... Well, you mean the world to me.
Emily and Daniel exchange nervous glance. Ava tilts her head, watching them squirm.

*softly* Ava... You're okay, right?
Ava Sinclair
*giggling* Silly, of course I am! Why wouldn't be?
She hands them cake box, fingers brushing Daniel's as he hesitates before taking it.

*whispering* Enjoy every bite
Ava walking away, her smile fading into something unreadable she pulls out her phone and text someone..

[7:00 PM] ✉️ hey, are you at the campus event?
Reply:- [7:02 PM] ✉️ yeah why?

Just making sure
She slides her phone into her pocket and exhales slowly 😮💨, eyes gleaming.

💭 And now, we wait.
The lights are dim. Candles flicker on the desk. Emily and Daniel on the floor, the cake in front of them.
Emily (Ava's Bestie)
*smiling* I still can't believe Ava did this for us.
Daniel (Ava's Boyfriend)
*forcing a chuckle* yeah... She's something else.
He picks up a fork, cutting into cake. Emily does the same.
Emily (Ava's Bestie)
*taking a bite* Mmm 😋.... It's so good.
Daniel (Ava's Boyfriend)
😏 At least Ava's baking skills are better than you.
Emily (Ava's Bestie)
*mock-offended* Excuse me?!
They laugh, taking another bite. Then another.
Emily's smile fades. Her finger tremble as she clutches her throat.
Emily (Ava's Bestie)
*hoarse whisper* D-Danny… Something's wrong...
Daniel (Ava's Boyfriend)
*groaning* My head… Feels… Weird...
His vision blurs. His limbs feel heavy. Emily gasps, eyes wide with horror as she watches Daniel collapse, convulsing on the floor.
Emily (Ava's Bestie)
*screaming* HELP-!
Her voice cut off into a stranger gurgle. Her body stiffens. She falls beside Daniel, eyes frozen in terror.
