CONTINUATION OF THE PREVIOUS EPISODE
"You're going to stay right here, until you tell me what I want to know," the figure continued, its voice dripping with malice.
Silas struggled to sit up again, but the pain in his head was too much. He fell back onto the cold, hard floor, his vision blurring.
The figure laughed again, a cold, mirthless sound. "You're not as tough as you think you are, Silas," it said. "You're just a pawn in a much larger game. And pawns are always expendable."
Silas's mind was racing, trying to piece together what was happening. Who was this figure? What did they want with him? And what did they mean by "a much larger game"?
As he lay there, trying to think, the figure began to pace back and forth in front of him. "You see, Silas, you have something that belongs to me," it said. "Something that I want very badly. And I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get it."
Silas's eyes narrowed, trying to see the figure's face. But it was too dark, and he couldn't make out any features.
"What do you want?" Silas demanded, trying to keep his voice steady.
The figure stopped pacing and turned to face him. "I want the code," it said, its voice dripping with malice. "And I want it now."
Silas's heart skipped a beat as he realized what the figure was talking about. The code was the same one that his mentor had given him, the one that could unlock a powerful technology.
"I don't have it," Silas lied, trying to stall for time.
The figure laughed again, a cold, mirthless sound. "Don't lie to me, Silas," it said. "I know you have it. And I'm going to get it, no matter what it takes."
Silas knew he was in grave danger. He had to think fast, or he would be in serious trouble.
Suddenly, he remembered something. A trick that Marco had taught him, a way to escape from a tight spot.
Silas smiled to himself, a plan forming in his mind. He was going to get out of there, and he was going to take the code with him.
But as he looked up at the figure, he saw something that made his heart skip a beat. A tattoo on the figure's hand, a tattoo that Silas recognized.
It was the symbol of the mafia family that Layla had been working for.
Silas's eyes widened in shock as he realized the truth. The figure was working for the mafia, and they were after the code.
And Silas was right in the middle of it all.
As Silas's eyes widened in shock, the figure took a step closer to him, its hand reaching out to grab him.
"You're a clever boy, Silas," the figure said, its voice dripping with malice. "But you're not clever enough to outsmart me."
Silas knew he had to act fast. He remembered the trick that Marco had taught him, and he used it to slip out of the figure's grasp.
As the figure lunged at him, Silas dodged to the side, using the momentum to fuel his own attack. He punched the figure in the face, feeling a satisfying crunch as his fist connected with its nose.
The figure stumbled backwards, giving Silas the opportunity to make a run for it. He sprinted out of the room, slamming the door shut behind him.
As he ran down the hallway, Silas could hear the figure shouting behind him. He knew he had to keep moving, or he would be caught.
He burst through the front door of the building, gasping in the cool night air. He looked around, trying to get his bearings.
He was in a deserted alleyway, with tall buildings looming on either side. He could see a faint light in the distance, and he knew he had to head towards it.
As he ran, Silas could hear the figure behind him, its footsteps pounding the pavement. He knew he had to keep moving, or he would be caught.
He burst out of the alleyway, into the bright lights of the city. He looked around, trying to get his bearings.
He was in a crowded street, with people milling around him. He knew he had to blend in, or he would be caught.
He ducked into a nearby crowd, using the people to conceal himself. He looked around, trying to spot the figure.
But it was nowhere to be seen.
Silas breathed a sigh of relief, knowing he had escaped. But he also knew that the figure would be back, and next time, he wouldn't be so lucky.
He had to keep moving, and he had to stay one step ahead of the figure. He knew it wouldn't be easy, but he was determined to survive.
As he walked through the crowd, Silas's mind was racing. He was thinking about the figure, and the mafia, and the code. He was thinking about Layla, and her betrayal.
And he was thinking about his next move.
He knew he had to get out of the city, and fast. He had to find a safe place to hide, where the figure and the mafia couldn't find him.
He thought about his mentor, and the safe house. He knew he couldn't go back there, not now that the figure knew about it.
He thought about Marco, and the mafia. He knew he couldn't trust them, not now that he knew about Layla's betrayal.
He was on his own, and he knew it.
But he also knew that he wasn't going to give up. He was going to keep fighting, no matter what.
And he was going to start by finding a way to take down the figure, and the mafia, once and for all.
