The cold mountain air bit at my skin as I stepped out of the helicopter, wrapping my arms around myself. Snow blanketed the ground, frost clinging to the trees around the secluded house. Unlike the lakeside villa we had just left, this place felt… different. Isolated.
But as I stepped inside, warmth wrapped around me.
The interior was just as luxurious as the villa, but there was something cozier about it. The soft glow of the fireplace, the rich wooden walls, the inviting furniture—it felt more like a home.
