The cold iron bars pressed against my back as I curled up in the farthest corner of the cage. The dim candlelight barely illuminated the dungeon-like chamber, casting flickering shadows against the stone walls.
My body ached, my limbs weak from repeated blood loss. I had screamed, begged—but my pleas only seemed to amuse my captors.
